Match Thread: Luton v Villa

Brilliant half despite the best efforts of the ref. Two nil up but we need to play smart second half. This ref will do his best to send one or two of our players off.

Impressed with Rodgers, looks a good player.

Luton are tripe.

This.

Yes, we’re playing reasonably well but my god, they’re dreadful. The amount of space and time our players have.

GD is important. Win first, yes, but it would be nice to get a couple more here if possible.

Could be 4-0 up without their keeper pulling off some great saves

Can't see the match, but we may need to get 4 goals. I won't feel secure until we're at least 3 ahead.

Fully in control. Watkins looks unplayable at the moment: a constant threat and contributing loads in terms of hold up play. Looks like he’s hitting a purple patch which bodes well.

Honourable mentions to lenglet and  McGinn who have been very composed. Roger’s is also fitting in nicely

Michael Oliver doing absolutely everything he can to stop us winning this one at a canter.  Ollie is being pulled to the ground every time the ball goes to him - nah nothing.  Dougie gets within 1 yard of their winger who dives over - yeah yellow card.

Are we watching same game, largely passing him by

Yep, we're watching the same game - just seeing it differently, that's all. When he has been involved, he has looked calm.

Really good performance so far

Created plenty and deserve the goals

Cant complain with our two yellows but how is Mengi not in the book, and McGinn is getting his shirt pulled everytime he turns and tries to get away with the ball.

Oliver is itching to book Emi as well

We look very very good going forward, could easily be 4 or 5 up. Hopefully JJ isn’t hurt badly, but Rogers really unlucky not to be in the score sheet. Their keeper having a blinder. Fancy Diaby getting a decent run out second half

Just catching up, what's happened to Ramsey? Anything serious

I think he was saying that he got kicked on the foot (hopefully not the same one from last summer).

Hurt his foot, played on for a bit but presumably asked to come off about 10 minutes later (although quite nonchalantly)

Very good 1st half , 2 great goals , Ollie is on fire just now , how Mengi is still not booked for committing numerous fouls on Ollie is truly baffling.

Looked like he took a knock on his foot and had a bit of soreness, tried to play on and couldn't

Didn't look bad enough for it to be the bone, hopefully just a knock and with the depth we've got we didn't have to risk him
