Bailey himself doesn't look 100% fit to me.

Ye his knee has been wrapped up for a few weeks.

Having to replace Morgan with Cash just about says it all. Our squad is so weak compared to the other big teams. Not even Unai can make a silk purse out of a sows ear!

I think he can.....but its the rest of the pig, he's struggling with.

Was he too old when we signed him to qualify as home grown per uefa rules?

Yes far too old, he would need to be at the club for 3 years before he turned 21, he is already 21

He's made for Unai and Unai is made for him.

He's a good technical player and over time, Unai will work with him on his whole game, on his passing, his positioning and defensive work and he'll improve him - but he's incredibly effective already, and he's incredibly effective already because he has 'a thing'.

The reviews for him at his other clubs are largely similar in a lot of ways, he was 'alright' or 'okay' with occasional flashes of real promise - but I think Unai does something very specific that's helping him be the player he is right now.

The scouting team and the manager have looked at him and seen the 'thing' he does - the ability to turn through midfield and drive toward goal with the ball at this feet, causing chaos - he does that as well as just about anyone and it's a heck of a weapon - they've seen that and our manager has considered what he can do with it, how he can add that to the toolbox he carries around in his head and how he can incorporate it into his system.

And then, because the manager is a genius, he's found a way to make that 'thing' work for him, he's built a system that allows Morgan Rogers to turn and drive at defences, over and over and over during games, it's a player doing the thing he's good at, a lot, during games - and if you look at our team and our system, that's Unai's genius. What's Bailey good at? What does he spend most of his time doing for us? What's Torres good at? What does he spend most of his time doing for us? Think Zaniolo holding the ball up against Arsenal, McGinn getting into positions where he can use his big Scottish arse to turn out and get us facing in the right direction - Unai gets players that sometimes aren't complete, but have specific talents and gets them playing in systems where those specific talents are the thing they do most often - Bailey twisting a left back, Torres playing out from the back, every man playing to his strengths with his weaknesses covered by the team and the system.

For Morgan, that's a Godsend, it's why we think about him differently to some of his previous clubs, we get a lot less of the 'alright' and the 'okay' and we watch him do the thing that makes him special an awful lot. You can see that he knows it, you can see that he's enjoying it, you can see how much confidence he's getting from it and you can see that he feels ten feet tall - all of that is making him a better player - all of that is persuading him to listen to whatever this management and coaching team are telling him to work on next - all of that will help him develop more quickly - you can see the confidence in his finishing, you can see it in the way he react when he loses the ball and his intention when he has it.

He's a fantastic player, benefitting us with a talent few players have and getting the benefit of a really, really good coaching team and a genius of a manager who is going to make him better in the future while letting him show what he's good at now. He's a perfect fit and as good an example as you could find as to how good our manager actually is - imagine where Morgan could be with a couple more seasons of working with him.

More of this please.

You are the lovechild of Henry Winter and Bill Bailey, and I claim my £5.

Also not sure if it was on VT or where but I saw a suggestion that Unai might turn Rogers into another Yaya Toure and it both made sense AND excited me.

Being linked with England squad this summer. Apparently cock nose loves him

Guaranteed GS will only mention him as coming through the Man City academy  and not what he’s achieved here in a short space of time 😬

Just needs a move to a top four team then to nail down a spot   🤐

Can't wait to see him looking significantly worse than he actually is once he's playing pure Garethball.

I’m assuming the question was regarding homegrown at the club

It was about whether he's considered for our club.  Not sure what the terminology is but question was answered by confirming he won't. My question was whether he could be a replacement for Ramsey in that regard, but given he can't be I don't see Ramsey being sold this summer.

We missed Rogers (Ramsey/Zaniolo) yesterday, someone who can get the ball half way line before the defence is set and carry the ball into opposition territory. By the time we’d manoeuvred the ball around they were back in a solid formation
