I'm glad no-one is taking us as serious contenders, less pressure on the players and all that jazz.

Let's just keep getting the results and see where the next few months takes us.

But... we are slap bang in it as it stands going into the New Year.

There is no point in looking too far ahead, we just have to stay in it week by week, as we have been doing in the last couple of months. If we can keep picking up wins and avoiding defeat where possible, and take advantage when our rivals slip up and when they play eachother, then we should be able to stay top 4/5 at least.

Only concern now is an injury to Martinez, Torres, Luiz, Kamara or Watkins. Missing any of those for a sustained period will hurt us. You could add McGinn and Bailey to that list as well! We need a bit of luck with injuries.

The Title Race is truly ON! It’s going down to the wire.

I really hope so, but I think the wire is probably like late April, early May… not taking anything away but not sure it’s the wire just yet

we can win this make no mistake. I think we’ve gone through our temporary wobble with key players out who will all be back after the international break / premiership holiday I expect us to turn up the pace on our competitors or at least average the points per game since the Don arrived

if this happens and there is absolutely no reason to believe it will not. We could be playing Liverpool for the title at Villa Park.

Are you going to bet against us?

Why are fans so desperate for media to talk about us as being title contenders? Believe me if they start doing that they will be just as quick to mention how we cant handled the pressure when we lose a few games. I’m happy for us to continue under the radar whilst picking up points. **** the media.

I personally think City will win it anyway. Had one of the worst starts in a while and 2 points off top if win game in hand with KDB and Haaland yet to return.

We are definitely in it and what fills me with optimism is we have got this far without Buendia and effectively without Moreno and Ramsey, two of the standout performers in our late surge last season.

We should get the latter two up to speed in the second half of the season and if we can get Buendia back in the squad for the run in that will give everyone a big lift, especiallyif we are still in or aroind the top 3. A reinforcement or two in the January window will also help. If it all clicks the way it did in the run in last season then we are going to be in the mix.

As we saw today there will be twists and turns, we shouldn't aassume Man City will be unstoppable.

Let's enjoy it.
