At 31 years old to go from years of being a squad player it would be tough for him to be step up to a stronger and more intense league as an immediate step up in quality from our current right back. When he was fully fit last season he started. However Cash usually picks up injuries during the season and we don't have that insurance anymore of Young coming in to do a solid job so that needs to be corrected and Meunier could be that type of experience signing that can come in and start 5-10 games a season and be a good sub to see out games we're winning. Unfortunately there seems to be more misses than hits for PL clubs shopping in the Eredivisie, especially when it comes to the more expensive signings, despite it being such a hotbed for developing talent, something just doesn't translate over particularly well. Meunier has very good attacking output and will fit in well. Emery knows him having coached him for 2 years at PSG. To me this is looks good business. RicRic Posted June 25, 2023 Share Posted June 25, 2023 (edited) Firstly stop posting any information from football insider secondly we should not be entertaining links signing a 31 yr old right back who is turning 32 in couple months, the only player we should be signing over the age of 31 is a goalkeeper. Lastly we should certainly not be paying €65M release fees for any defender when this is the area we need to develop the least.
