Speaking to an Arsenal supporting friend, hes a big fan and thinks he would do really well under Emery. His one concern is how disruptive he is, trouble seems to follow him around.

I find these assessments of his attitude have all come from Arsenal fans who haven’t seen him play for the last 2 years. Other than being a bit of shithouse on the pitch, I haven’t heard anything majorly concerning about his overall attitude since joining Marseille.

He’ll come straight in for Buendia, Buendia can then rotate with Ramsey/Bailey and be deployed as a second striker dropping into the 10 position and sometimes playing deeper on the right or left.

I think you have the wrong thread, wrong player for that.

The era of this is the first 11 and they play every game is long long long gone. We need multiple people to compete for the same positions in the starting 11. We need players with different attributes also so the right 11 to pick is based on how Emery wants to set up based on the opposition and situation.

Also with 5 subs I would expect 3 CMs to play a part in every match. So Luiz, Kamara, Guendouzi.

As I said before Emery seems flexible too. I can see Moreno playing LM and LB. Guendouzi playing CM and RM etc..

It simply depends on how Emery wants to set up the team for that specific game

While I agree I think if he brings him in, the three of them will play more often than not.  Yes, flexibility but still when available they will be playing at least 80% of the time.  Even flexible managers play a core amount of players most of the time when available.  Those three will be part of the core.

I was just saying Guendouzi would take Buendia’s starting position in the team. And that Buendia would be used differently.

Personally I don't see him playing 4 CMs in the same team. For example JJ Luiz Kamara Guendouzi. I believe the winger he has in mind will play one side of Midfield and three of the others being from the Luiz Kamara Guendouzi JJ McGinn Dendoncker group.

Nah he’s taking McGinn’s role.  As Emery has said we still looking for a specialist winger which would take Buendia’s role.

I agree, he’ll play 3 CM’s in whatever formation he plays.  He’ll only play 4 CM’s when up against an elite team in an away fixture.  I think Kamara, Luiz and I suppose Guendouzi as the main three.

Two things worry me here.

When VT agrees on a player it almost never happens.

The links seem to be weak at best. Obviously it makes sense on paper given their previous history but very little in way of solid links.

I think a number of us disagree with buying him as shown in this thread.

French journos and Get French Football Now have talked about it. The links are legitimate.

But a much poorer league, wasn’t that great in his previous PL experience although a lot younger, with prior attitude issues and looks like no competition for his name.  I was questioning the move when I thought it would be around £20m but while I haven’t seen him playing for Marseille it worries me but 100% backing for Emery from me.  Not expecting much though if we do sign him.

I watched a fair few Marseille games last season and him and Kamara always stood out. Attitude problems seem to be a non issue as some other have suggested.

And every league is poorer than PL.

I expect a lot from him.
