MrBlack
If Newcastle lose, do we think it will have the effect of knocking their confidence, and bringing their performance levels back down to normal levels? Or will it mean they get to focus solely on the league and genuinely push for the title?

They are like West Ham a few years ago. 2 or 3 very good players and the rest are an average bunch playing out of their skins with a huge amount of confidence.

True and it's dreadful, but, they aren't going to win it this year. It took City a while even with the backing of a nation state.

rodders0223
Why are they always shit? Seriously. Billions. Killing it in the league. Feel good factor. Pumped by a league 1 side. Just Newcastle all over for about 70 years

Johnnyp
When i was growing up in the 90s i felt there was way more non league teams in the 3rd round than the last few years. In fact im certain of it. I think they should bring something in for the 1st and 2nd rounds that all league 1 and 2 teams play away if they draw a non league team. They do something similar in the French cup. They’ve certainly not lost the magic of it. Not at all uncommon over there to see a 2nd or 3rd tier team go far in the competition. Last 8 of this will be all PL. Boring.

fightoffyour Posted January 7, 2023 VT Supporter Share Posted January 7, 2023 Finally someone putting the brakes on Newcastle. They’re a shitty old freight train driven by a bunch of words removed that just won’t stop rolling. Hopefully the wheels fall off now and they slip back to lower mid table where they should be.
