The team who got owned by a bunch of Young Boys!

It was interesting for me last night how effective, both "young boys" and " Zenit " contained Man U and Chelsea, respectively, despite the world class talent on display.

I was impressed with the defending from both teams....thought Zenits left back Douglas Santos was a live wire, in to everything.

We shouldn't be overly scared of United.

They live off vibes and moments of individual brilliance.

They aren't like Man City or Liverpool who will suffocate teams for 90 minutes with relentless pressure, not allowing you to breathe.

United live off moments. They will put you under pressure for 10-15 minutes but it don't tend to last for very long. None of their pressure is sustained over a significant period. Wolves battered them for large periods.

but so far, we don't.

you need to very athletic and full of stamina,  to do that, as "Young Boys" demonstrated.

If you look at our record against them, its quite understandable to fear them....albeit, I am all for, not fearing anyone.

I've a glass half full view of our 4 games so far.

Firstly a terrible 45 against Watford which was the result of the shambles pre season due to covid and injuries. Smith had an error in team selection too. We were much improved in 2nd half when Ramsey came on.

We then got the 3 points against Newcastle

Brentford. Losing McGinn and Ramsey was a hammer blow to us for that game. I think most of us would agree if we had a Ramsey, Luiz, McGinn trio starting instead of Young, Luiz, Chuk we probably would have won the game.

Then Chelsea where we played superbly and shouldn't have lost it based on the chances created. Difference was Lukaku and individual mistakes.

I've seen enough to be very positive about this squad in terms of sustained performance this season, once we have everyone fit and up to speed we look to have the players to be a threat in every game.

I think we'll get somewhere between 6 and 8 points from next 5 games and anything above 5 would be a success

Think Everton sets the tone for this.

Beat them and don't see why we couldn't get at least a draw at Spurs. They're getting injuries now and we beat them end of last season.

Have a very good record v Arsenal since coming up and Wolves should be draw at least.

Don't beat Everton and it will be a grind up to November.

I will go for 7 points.

We could be 4 up v them going into injury time and I'd still be happy with a draw.

25 years of mental anguish v them just seeps into the soul I'm afraid. In a funny way I'd be less confident of getting anything v them if we were 1 up with 20 minutes left as opposed to one down when they might sit back a bit.

That's the only one I'm writing off. Really surprised at the lack of confidence v Arsenal. All they've done is scrape past Norwich and we always handle their forwards with ease. They haven't scored past us in the last three games now and we usually win the midfield battle.

Spurs couldn't handle Ollie at all end of last season so I don't think it's impossible we could win there although would be happy with a point.

It’s a tough run but all the games are winnable, West Ham were better than Man Utd yesterday imo,  keeping individual errors to a Minimum is key for us against the them.

The ref says no.   3 penalties to Man Utd just for daring to dream about a win.

Looking forward to the obligatory Pogba shithousery for a penalty early in the second half after we've been 0-1 up and comfortable.

Then the late winner from some prick, most likely Maguires massive **** forehead.

Everton (H) - 2-0 (W)

Man Utd (A) - 1-2 (W)

Spurs (A) - 0-3 (W)

Wolves (H) - 1-0 (W)

Arsenal (A) - 1-4 (W)

One down...

Will you be readjusting the scores in the other games considering the lack of confidence in the Everton game 😀. 1-3 against Man Utd and 0-5 Spurs sounds reasonable imo

Ronaldo scares the shit out of me because he seems to have the ability at age 36 to jump higher than a house...

Its unreal and then add the positional sense, vision and quality on the ball and even at 36 and on 25m a year he is looking a bargain for Man Utd
