Hope it's bs. Don't want our national side keeper sitting on the bench 95% of the season.

You must know more about him though, Blades fans seem happy he might move on - strange after losing Ramsdale they would be OK with losing another keeper.

Is he any good? He moves around a lot looking at his Wiki

He's sitting on a high salary (for a Championship club) They can't afford him apparently.

Yeah he's a bit of a late bloomer and has mover around in the last few years. He's been really solid for Sweden but not watched him much for the club sides.

Lots of talk about Zakaria going to Man U. This is the gap between us and the big boys when players like this are at the end of the contract or available on the cheap. They'll get picked up by bigger sides relatively cheaply with big wages.

We can compete a lot and win a lot of financial battles with players on decent sized fees and sell them 'the project' but when the fees are low and it's just sky high wages and club stature we'll lose out.

Either need to find them before their stock rockets or buy them at peak values.

Weirdly we can probably compete for Bissouma more at £45m than we can for Zakaria at £7m or Boubacar Kamara on a free.

Big cost of entry to compete in Europe unless cheap gems + youth come together in an almost unbelievable way like at Leicester.

Is this based on something you've heard?

Or a bit like posting GOAAAAAL in the match thread it's out of hope more than expectation? 😄

Reports all day staring medicals for Digne and AEG, Kerr Smith possibly almost done. keeper too, plus it's WEDNESDAY.

That's what we've lacked for decades imo.

I think the problem is that our previous deadwood has been unsellable.

How do you cast of a player that no-one wants and doesn't want to move because of earning a packet at Villa?

The fact we have bought more sensibly has allowed this to happen. We have a lot more saleable assets, even if we see them as not good enough

I just had a read of the Toon forum. They are all congratulating themselves and the club on how smart Wood is for 25m. It is only a few weeks ago they were thinking they were signing Mbappe, Coutinho, Botman and Digne. They are a funny bunch. We are knocking them out of the park with our transfer window, it will be funny to see them relegated in May

When we can offer the opportunity to play in Europe and win silverware we will be able to get these type of players. That's the difference

I'd say Robin Olsen is solid and can in some games be really good. For the national team and for Roma he has been performing well. A bit of a question mark over how he copes with the physicallity of the Premier League, he looked a bit shaky when he played for Everton imo.

In general he would be an ok short time solution as back up, but as @sne said, we don't want it to hamper our national team having him warming the bench!

I'd rather see we went for someone with more PL experience. Must be a bunch of 33-35 year olds we can give a final good pay day?

Roma have loaned him out since 2019 and he hasn’t played a massive amount for any club since then really has he?

Gollini starting for Spurs in the Cup, good shout for number 2 👀

It was a real shame that didn’t work out. He showed some signs of being a good ‘keeper, some random goals early on in that first Champ season and that was the end.
I remember being at VP for that bizarre clearance/deflection goal against (was it) Sheffield Weds the first game in the Championship! That was such bad luck.
