Under normal circumstances the fixtures this month would be seen as a good chance to get some points on the board, even Man City at home wouldn't be a total write-off. Obviously we could have said that and to a greater extent about the last three games, but if you just look at just the last two games we've won one of those and if we were to beat Burnley, then suddenly we will have won two of the last three,. If Mings comes back it could give us a massive psychological boost, similar to what happened when Grealish returned last season, which might see us doing better in these coming games than is generally expected.

Our form over the last eleven games is of course eight defeats, one draw and two victories, so it's surprising to me that if you base the league table on just that run of games, we'd still only be one point from safety. West Ham have been just as bad, Norwich worse, Bournemouth have only been better by one point, and Arsenal only better by two points. Of course it doesn't excuse our poor form and we need to improve, but we're not the only ones who have been on a bad run.

I still don’t think we’re as bad as the teams  that Lambert managed to keep up. I mean in his first season we lost 3 games in a row conceding 15 goals and scoring none! Yet we survived. I’m not defending us and Smith. Just saying things can change quickly.

A month ago everyone had relegated Southampton and Watford. The former lost 9-0 at home ffs! Look at them now!  Things can change.

Chelsea can't stop giving our relegation rivals points, really could do with them and Spurs picking up some form this month as they play a lot of teams near the bottom. Hopefully some of the afternoon kick-offs go our way, especially could with Palace and Wolves getting away wins against Southampton and Watford, and West Ham not winning against Bournemouth. Whatever happens we can't drop back into the bottom three this weekend.

The commentator said something second half that the last 10 mins could possibly define our season, I think he was spot on. That was like looking over the abyss and stepping back. As others have said, for all our problems we are level pegging with established prem sides. I think today is the day we stayed up. ( yeah not literally!) .

3 points off 13th, or 3 points off 12th assuming 12th placed loses their game in hand.

We've got an extremely tough test to make the most of an opportunity to go midtable, but if first half display at Burnley was to be emulated, we'd be in it.

It's a different beast to tame, the PL from the Championship, but Smith is certainly not down and out. I'm not saying he will conjure the kind of form that got us promoted. But he might.

Not long ago I asked us not to panic because there was 60 points to play for, with 51 points left to play for I ask the same, and I think Smith has given reason to hope.

Adama playing without a sponsor on his shirt, guessing he must have special permission based on his religous believes or something. Watford started really well, not looking like a team likely to be relegated, but Wolves starting to see more of the ball now, and missed a really good chance.

Just now, dudevillaisnice said:

West Ham vs Bournemouth.. draw best result?

yes I would say so. although if one were to win I hope it's WHU because Bournemouth are on an awful form and it could send them crashing.
