Guest av1 Posted May 14, 2019 Posted May 14, 2019 Well if we don't win tonight we can't excuse Smith of bottling it, he's gone balls deep with that line up.

El Zen Posted May 14, 2019 Posted May 14, 2019 I can’t complain about the team. I like that Green replaces Albert, probably would have kept Whelan in (assuming he’s rested and 100 per cent) but it’s 50/50 between him and Conor, really. Must mean we expect to have a lot of the ball in their half, and expect them to be less of a threat on the break without Gayle. I hope our midfield three finds the right balance.

Brumstopdogs Posted May 14, 2019 Posted May 14, 2019 Need to keep our discipline today in what should be a red hot atmopshere. Come on you Villa boys!

Villan_of_oz Posted May 14, 2019 VT Supporter Posted May 14, 2019 I like the lineup, I don't think Whelan can do his thing for 90 minutes, so I'd much him be on at the end if it's nervy..... Hopefully it isn't!!

Keener window-cleaner Posted May 14, 2019 Posted May 14, 2019 A bit worried about Hourihane as holding mid, if not McGinn drops down there? Anyway in Dean Smith I trust! UTV!
Keener window-cleaner Posted May 14, 2019 Posted May 14, 2019 and after the last game Hourihane deffo deserves it 1
villalad21 Posted May 14, 2019 Posted May 14, 2019 Hourihane and Green starts. Smith isn't a very defensive minded manager is he? Lol 2
villalad21 Posted May 14, 2019 Posted May 14, 2019 I'm very happy with his selection this time. I think Whelan and Adomah are crap players. Good on you Smith 1

WakefieldVillan Posted May 14, 2019 Posted May 14, 2019 Positive team selection by the gaffer but can't argue with it at all! Such a difference from our previous fella in charge! Big positive for me is the omission of Albert and I just hope Green can become a Villa legend tonight and do the business and fire us to Wembley! UTV 1
chrisvilla4 Posted May 14, 2019 Posted May 14, 2019 So proud of Smith and the boys. Whatever the outcome, you're constantly reminding me why I'm so lucky to be a Villa fan. No pressure boys, just go out and do your thing. I love this team
ciggiesnbeer Posted May 14, 2019 Posted May 14, 2019 Good line up. Whelan & Connor swapping roles is a smart move. Both good players but Connor played himself in. Glen can come on and either turn the game around if we are behind or seal the win. Happy with Smiths attacking intent.
