That’s the manufacturers fault. I also liked that it put more light on Villa and that he was calling out some of the nonsense from other club's. He was front and centre on things like super league and for that I respect him. It sometimes felt a little bit like the Purslow show though if you know what I mean and I can understand why that rubbed some people the wrong way. All the good signings are someone else’s doing. I don’t mind the criticism but there is zero nuance to it. He’s criticised for the shirts, even though Nuremberg who works in the industry points out that it wouldn’t be the fault of the club or the ceo. He was getting the blame for season ticket prices going up. I see they’re going up again. He was getting the blame for the terrace view and then we have more expensive hospitality following his departure. However much you pick at it, it is not going to undo the decision to hire Gerrard. It was a **** up, everyone knows, everyone agrees. It’s not the entire summary of Purslow’s time here. Kamara, Watkins, Martinez, etc all these successful financial investments…someone else. Definitely not giving Purslow any credit for the fact that we have these players in for relatively (and I stress the word “relatively”) low amounts. Also I’m not sure Arsenal were bidding £10m for Luiz when it looked like he was joining them. I believe it was more than that. And as an aside, I’m glad we didn’t shift Digne.
