Apparently Wes is a likely candidate to buy it now that Ishbia bought the Phoenix Suns instead. Bucks are valued at something like $2.4billion - $4 billion... No idea if this will effect Villa thou. Maybe they can loan us someone tall 1

No relegation, full arenas every game, huge global TV deals. Hand over fist, especially if you own the real estate.
Villaphan04
found it interesting that there are a few American franchises up for sale currently as well. The commanders (NFL) are looking at beyond $7billion which seems insane.
sne
I don't know how these things are financed but if Edens is going to by the other half of the Milwaukee Bucks from his business partner then that is maybe $2 billion that has yo come from somewhere. And then maybe the Las Vegas soccer thingy. Guy gotta put on his best checkered spending pants in 2023.

He can gain access to USD2bn easy enough and history tells us he'll eventually sell The Bucks for much more than he bought his original or this stake for. They bought the Bucks way under value. He could also sell his stake in Villa and make a nice profit. Although only a fraction of what he'd gain from the Bucks
clayton8321
The owners of the NFL's Cleveland Browns is reportedly in talks to buying 25% stake of the Wes' Milwaukee Bucks. Would be interesting to see if the deal materializes how it would impact Villa, if at all. https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/35632115/sources-browns-owners-haslams-talks-buy-25-stake-bucks

There's 4 owners listed including Marc Lasry. Article says they want to buy co-owner Lasry's stake: "The Haslams, who have explored buying other pro teams in the past, are seeking to acquire the 25% share currently held by Marc Lasry, the sources said." So don't see how relevant to Villa.

He also owns columbus crew and is worth about $5bn Could be a pally link rather than an influx of cash from the bucks side of it, especially if Wes taps him up about MLS ownership, and potential to bring him in to the villa fold further down the line but how and why wouldn't be guaranteed, bit like how West ham brought the Czech guy and his money on board last year Could be good could be absolutely nothing
Tayls
We don’t really seem to see any benefit to Aston Villa from these other sporting franchises or business ventures, all appears to being kept separate. It’s very much a case of ‘become a self-sustaining business in the UK’ Edited February 11, 2023 by Tayls
CVByrne
The most NSWE can put into Villa per year is £30m in the PL rules. The can also facilitate healthy cashflow too by making funding available but in terms of owners putting money in as new equity it's only £30m per year. So between them it's £15m each. That's nothing to them. Media love to quote total amount we paid for players etc.. as if Aston Villa didn't have any revenue or as if the owners were writing the cheques. sne
Getting new partners in Milwaukee Quote Marc Lasry To Sell His Stake In Bucks To Haslam Sports Group At $3.5 Billion Valuation Milwaukee Bucks co-owner Marc Lasry has reached agreement to sell his stake in the team to Jimmy and Dee Haslam of Haslam Sports Group. The valuation agreed to was $3.5 billion. Lasry is selling his 25 percent share of the Bucks after nearly nine years of ownership. Lasry and Wes Edens bought the majority of the franchise from Herb Kohl in April 2014. Kohl still retains a significant minority investment in the Bucks. The $3.5 billion valuation is the second-highest in NBA history, following the recent $4 billion valuation of the Phoenix Suns when Mat Ishbia purchased the team earlier this year. Haslam Sports Group also owns the NFL's Cleveland Brown and MLS's Columbus Crew. https://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/270640/Marc-Lasry-To-Sell-His-Stake-In-Bucks-To-Haslam-Sports-Group-At-$35-Billion-Valuation Edited February 27, 2023 by sne
