  1. "Not great timing".. get over yourself. For Colombia, it's always big news and an honor to have players, actors, politicians, singers, writers etc., represented in a positive light considering our narco history. Do I think JD needs to grow up a little and likely stop listening to those closest to him, yes, but to suggest he should keep stay quiet on his national pride for himself and fellow compatriots to appease to the sensitivity of others would really have me and every Colombian's question his character, loyalty and pride. That said, if he's a knucklehead and a complete brat, then Emery should get rid of him. The last thing you want on any club is someone who doesn't want to be there or become a cancer who could negatively impact the other young players on the team.
  2. I checked and didnt' see Ollie squeeze out a better performace with better service minded players around him.
  3. Absolutely, but I was talking about todays match
  4. Whatever. Great teams have forgetful games too but the idea is to get the result anyway possible and move on. Next!
  5. Hard to impress when you're asked to make lemonade for 50 people and they give you just 2 lemons.
  6. Like when he was near the pk spot vs. Manure, didn't have the best angle, so quickly laid if off to Ollie who had better shot? Or is it when he tracks back to help bring the ball up or move towards the ball when it's being pass around by opposing defenders? Duran is a lot of things, such as immature at the moment, but being selfish is definitely not one of his traits, although the best strikers in the world are all selfish.
  7. Also had Ramsey ignore him in the first half with a shot that looked like a cross from the left and Duran 4 feet from him wide open. Duran looked frustrated coming out but I think it was more like seeing players that could've helped him more, coming on, while he went off.
  8. These are the matches Buendia is sorely missed.
  9. I really do believe it's just immaturity and that Unai is handlingly him perfectly. LIke most kids, when they want something and don't get it, they pout. I'm crossing my fingers that people around him aren't poising his mind telling him he's way better than OW and that he should leave. I just pray JPA is talking to him to stay patient and be professional in his approach like JPA himself and Falcao.
  10. Being a Villa supporter since the 80's and Colombian, I'm biased. Villa shouldn't sell him. Loan yes. Jhon is quality and you can obviously see that when he plays extensive minutes. I've seen him play in all games representing Colombia in WC qualifying and he does the same with Los Cafeteros that he does with Villa that I REALLLY like... he plays with GARRA....fight, energy, passion. Mind you, Colombia boss Nestor Lorenzo also plays him off the bench but on the right with Luis Diaz on the left and veteran Rafael Santos Borre (Werder Bremen) up top. What he lacks is more minutes and maturity which one can expect from most kids his age. With time he can be potent up top like compatriot ex-Napoli and current Torino forward Duvan Zapata. When Unai puts him in, I stay focused on him and he reallly doesn't disappoint me he's always moving and trying to create space for himself and others such as the layoff he served Ollie vs. United, which he could easily taken the shot himself in front of goal but quickly recognized that Ollie had a better opportunity. My fear is Jhon being sold, Ollie going down and we have no real threat up top...oh and also going to Milan and becoming a superstar LOL..
  11. I've been super optimistic about Villa's future before Alemany was linked with us so I could careless that he's no longer coming. Good for him and his agent for using us to get more money from Barsa. Nothing personal just business. The plan our favourite Egyptian and American have had in place since they bought the club is sure to attract other very well qualified "gurus" that see Villa's bright future. Let's face it, not too many people predicted a manager with a resume like Unai joining us when he did. So F Alemany and UTV.
  12. Playing not to lose, instead of playing to win is never ever bueno
  13. The owners of the NFL's Cleveland Browns is reportedly in talks to buying 25% stake of the Wes' Milwaukee Bucks. Would be interesting to see if the deal materializes how it would impact Villa, if at all. https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/35632115/sources-browns-owners-haslams-talks-buy-25-stake-bucks
  14. As a Colombian and longtime Villa supporter (waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay before JPA joined), I beg to differ.
  15. Don't tell M'bappe that as he'll think we play in the Bahamian third division.
  16. Coincedently, he's more like Muriel's Colombia teammate at Atalanta.. Duvan Zapata who is also 6'2''. He was actually the first person I thought of when I saw him play for the Fire and Colombia. Very powerful and explosive.
  17. Can't be too upset when the result is what you thought it might be before the start of the match. Also, to be fair... Liverpool has players on it's bench that could start for us. Let's move on to next match because today's second half gives me a lot of optimism that Emery's first few matches with us weren't a fluke.
  18. As an optimist, I could careless about result. Hearing final whistle mean't the end of the God Awful Gerrard Era and the start of a new one with lots of promise. If it was just another manager, like Dyche, it would a cautious optimism but I'm really giddy about his arrival this week. Fresh new start for the entire squad to prove themselves infront of a multi-European trophy winner. Would be great to be at the training grounds next week just to see the change of atmosphere.
  19. With Stevie yes would've have been worried, but with Unai not in the slightest. Not saying we're going to win but I'm know we'll have a fighting chance. I'm sure players will be pumped in his first game and they'll be strategically standing in the right place.
  20. To be honest. I don't care about this result. The final whistle doesn't mean an ugly loss but the start of a promising bright future.
  21. Ref was utterly horrible for not ejecting Gerrard for improper use of a manager's basic requirements
  22. Looks like Marco Silva is showing Stevie some mercy by putting in a Fulham U-9 player.
  23. Not sure why people get on the players for how they tactically perform. They're just doing what the boss asks them to do. If you ask a good steel worker to make wood furniture don't expect a masterpiece. Not his fault, it's just not his strength.
  24. Wasn't perfect and lucky City was unlucky on several attempts. but credit to Stevie realizing his f-ups and starting Leon, Dougie and subbing out McGinn, who I still rate, but not in his current role
  25. Correct. Linesman raises flag believing Ramsey touched the ball while Coutinho was offsides. My problem is if you're not 100% certain, KEEP THE FLAG F-ING DOWN... and let VAR sort it out. Although, have to say..can't be certain Coutinho would've scored as the City players stopped playing once they heard the whistle.
