Lerner failed in regards to improving us and then realised it was too much for him. Lerner didn’t fail in regards to the day to day operating of the Club. Massive difference. I kind of admire your willingness to try and see the good in everyone, however, Xia gambled our whole existence on money that was never his and lost. You type that as if you know the man's mind, but you don't (unless you are him?). It would be poor business by any businessperson to do a deal that was bad for him/her. He has admitted he is a businessman and you or I shouldn't be surprised by that. I'd have less respect for him if he didn't. He has managed his oversight of the club very poorly, but doesn't mean he shouldn't sell what is best for him and the club. How do you know the guys found him? You say we were a day away from administration but where is the evidence to prove that? We all know the situation isn't great but we don't know the real truth unless we get to look at the books. I’m all saying he is may have pulled off the best thing thats happened to the club for years. Whether he did it for the club or not I don’t care. Apparently every decision Lerner made was for the benefit of the club and it lead to a steady demise. Believe me if Lerner didn’t have Premier League tv money we would have been bankrupt a long time ago. We're secure in our ability to pay the bills and that is fantastic news. If things go well, and that's what they're here for, then this could be very good news in the long term too, if the intention of the new blood is to own a football team and develop it and they can provide sustained investment in making that happen, then it might be the best news we've had in a long long time. For the season though, we're still in an FFP pickle and they can't just throw money at it unfortunately, so we'll need to do a bit of belt tightening and maybe sell one or two - but we can do it with an eye on the future rather than in desperation. The interesting bit will be next year, when for FFP purposes, the massive £80.7m loss we made in our relegation season no longer counts towards our profit and loss calculation - we've lost about £20-25m a season since then, but if that makes our three year total losses of £125m, then in a year time, that'll be more like £60-70m and we can start to operate a bit more like a football team again. It's always good news for a drowning man to be pulled out of the water, but I think we'll need to keep a little patience before we're home and dry. Wes (first names for my new pals) has some sports involvement, but not that much that he would be an expert brought in to help out. Have they done stuff together before?
