I was in my 30's and wrapped up with all the eye candy.....but you need someone to do the ugly stuff, BEFORE it gets to the defence. Ginko makes some good points, but I still think you need a DM......else someone else has to do it who is maybe not so specialised. Look, Jedinak has lost his legs, but he still nullifies the aerial threat and players running through the middle. IMV we would have won against Preston, if he was playing. Ps DM's are not renowned for their ball skills Good DM's are. Ones like Jedinak just look like CB's who have got lost on their way back from a corner. I think the reason we lost the Preston game was because the usual suspects stopped pretending they were good and Lansbury was knackered doing 4 players jobs. Jedinak would have been shattered about the same time. I think Bruce will want to play with much more energy and pressure, I think it'll be a high pressing game where we'll win the ball back high and move it to Kodjia or the wings quickly. That hasn't been an option till now which is why Jedinak has played a big part but I think he'll become a great option off the bench to protect the defence in the closing stages against hoofball teams. I think we play far to defensive. Our back 4 is good enough to stop most teams in this division. If we actually had the personnel to show more intent in matches we'd be outscoring teams for fun most weeks. I think we have that now so it would be a shame to waste it. Biggest problem every game I've seen. Had me questioning if Bruce right man for the job. Hopefully new personal equals shackles removed

However, I find it hard to believe that Lansbury has achieved such good performances at Forest without it. any player will only carry a team for so long, that is not lack of discipline or lack of desire. its getting wise......all players need support. To be honest, I never saw him play for Forest so I can't say what his performances were like but the following article puts them into question. Quote Henri Lansbury was nothing more than an average player for Nottingham Forest, says Kenny Burns By Nottingham Post | Posted: January 23, 2017 Nottingham Forest legend Kenny Burns says he is glad Henri Lansbury has been sold to Aston Villa. As you might have noticed, I was often critical of Henri Lansbury during his time at Forest. Now he's gone to Aston Villa for £3m when he had six months left on his contract. To be honest, I don't think he'll be remembered too kindly by Forest fans. The last good game he had was against Barnsley, when he scored a hat-trick. Before that you have to go back to last season, when he had a fantastic game against Brighton. That was when we saw the best of him, but we never saw that enough. In the grand scheme of things, he was a very average Nottingham Forest player. He could play a few different roles in midfield. He could hold and he could play off the striker, but he gobbed off too much and he got booked too much. I'm glad he's gone. They've got decent money for him and hopefully now that is reinvested in the team. They've got a few options in midfield so as it stands right now, he's not a huge miss. http://www.nottinghampost.com/henri-lansbury-was-nothing-more-than-an-average-player-for-nottingham-forest-says-kenny-burns/story-30080266-detail/story.html

Because don't you also rate Gabby very highly? *as in he picks up a lot of needless yellow cards. I meant more in a general sense but it's more than just lack of self discipline. It's more an overall feel I get which makes me think we could have done better. It's difficult to pinpoint why and would like to see him play for us before I say any more. ciggiesnbeer
Aye. Forest fans, deluded at the best of times about where they are in footballs great chain. They are now a feeder club for their betters, like us. I say that as someone who quite likes them.

Jesperchr
Am i the only one who is a bid worried about the impact, of the constant changing of the squad will have?I mean, the entire team is made of new players, who needs to settle, with no “old” players to make them feel home. I am a bid scared that none of the new players are willing to fight for the team, the same way a player who is villa at hart would be… you got Baker and Graelish who are born and breed villa (first 11 + subs)
