I have seen Postecoglu name pop up a few times in the next manager thread :o

He's not a bad manager. He hasn't got much to work with, though. We have Aaron Mooy and not much else, really.

They never seem able to assemble a decent squad, got several stars but always have 3/4 weaknesses

they only named 5 defenders in the last squad, 3 of them have 7 caps combined, they named 7 strikers...and that's with pastore and di Maria classed as midfielders, they played 3-4-3 and in that midfield 4 was dybala and Messi, Romero still plays in goal

Argentina havent won in 3 and have 16 goals in 16 games. This is a forward line that has had available in this campaign Messi, Higuain, Aguero, Dybala, Tevez, Icardi

that is pathetic

Yes true but Chile have just lost to two sides they should have beaten, that has really hurt their campaign and I see Argentina at least making the playoffs which is poor when they should be in the top 2 of the group

Argentina in major trouble in WC qualifying. Losing at home to Venezuela atm. Chile in real bother too.

Just as I type that Icardi scores with pretty much the first touch he's had all night!

Icardi was doing his best Higuain impression last night. Scorer of 20 + goals in Seria A with his eyes closed but constantly just failing to touch in  crosses. A nearly game for him especially as he had his goal chalked off as an OG.

No idea what's going on with Argentina. They have some brilliant individual players but just can't connect as a team. Didn't really understand Sampaoli's thinking later on in the game either. Took off Dybala and Icardi and put on Bendentto and Acosta so finished the game with those two upfront and Pastore hopelessly overhitting balls towards them. Aguero was an unused sub.

They'll still scrape in. Let's be honest New Zealand in a play off is a total bye to the finals.

Don't forget lads if you get your missus up the duff over the next couple of weeks then you will get 2 weeks off with paternity for the world cup!

Doesn't have to be your own missus either :thumb:

The England manager has been cleared twice of any wrongdoing. Once by the FA and once by an independent review led by a QC.

You can't keep calling for reviews until you get the result you want.

well he sacked now ;)

Looked to me like Ghana have been done at the death by a terrible linesman decision.

Yeah, they were robbed, Paul. Ghana look a shadow of their former selves though and don't select any of their best players. Kwadwo Asamoah, KP Boateng, Asamoah Gyan, both Ayews, and Abdul Rahman Baba should all still be contributing to this team, but for a variety of reasons weren't in the matchday squad.
