LakotaDakota Posted August 16, 2016 Share Posted August 16, 2016 (edited) so this evening has so far seen 2 more bronze medals in the gymnastics, Another gold, silver & bronze for trott, james & marchant in the cycling, Jason Kenny up next in the keirin final for possibly another gold and Jack Laugher looking good for gold/silver nearly half way through the 3m diving final. The one difference between britain and every other country is that funding for the soprt is based entirely on how well that sport does at the olympics. No medals and the budget is cut/withdrawn, lots of medals and the budget is maintained/increased meaning these athletes are quite literally fighting for their livelihood every 4 years. Their one and only goal is medals at the olympics, if they win some at world/european championships inbetween then great but without the olympics they would not be able to cycle/row for a living Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
