Rodders
a striker, maybe two would be enough in january, we'll have a good squad once remi gets the best out of veretout, gil ayew etc. A back up left back who isn't shite would be nice, but not essential. Can leave GK until the summer. I want to give Brad the season time to recover his standing. If he carries on being dodgy then sadly it may be time to say farewell next summer. villa89
Surprised nobody is mentioning that we need a centre back (who isn't terrible). It would be great to sign 3 players in January.
Villan4Life
http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2015/11/11/report-aston-villa-and-napoli-interested-in-signing-exciting-bel/ According to Belgian newspaper La Capitale, as referenced by Spanish publication Estadio Deportivo, Aston Villa, Napoli and Sevilla are all interested in signing Anderlecht midfielder Samuel Bastien. The report states that a number of high-profile European clubs are tracking the central midfielder, who is contracted to Anderlecht until 2017, but may have to wait for his signature as he is currently on-loan with Serie B side US Avellino. He has featured seven times in Serie B this season, making four starts and scoring one goal.Should Aston Villa look to sign Bastien?Although the Anderlecht midfielder is an exciting talent, he isn’t a priority to what Villa should be looking to add to their squad under new manager Remi Garde. The West Midlands club have a number of good prospects waiting in the wings, however, lack the experience and quality needed in order to ensure they remain a Premier League side for next season. This January, the focus for Garde should be on finding replacements for departed key players like Fabien Delph and Christian Benteke, while ensuring the hub of the squad remains together. If Garde can build on the good point earnt in his first game - the 0-0 draw with Manchester City - and get the club into a good position heading into January then adding the much-needed experience when the window opens could prove pivotal in their fight to save their place in England’s top flight. Villan4Life
Could Sebastian Haller be worth looking at?6 in 10 for France U21. And scoring for fun at Utrecht? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sébastien_Haller
troon_villan
Rumours of Chelsea having a clear out in January, Loic Remy anyone? (And no, not just because he's French. Don't be so racist)Are the French a race now?
NoelVilla
StrikerKeeperRB.In that order please.Agreed 5 hours ago. Now we probably need to add a loan for a LB to that for I suspect we can't call back Cissokho.

Villan4Life
http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/475145/Newcastle-Sunderland-West-Ham-Aston-Villa-Lamine-Kone-Signing-Gossip-Rumour-Latest Quote The Ivory Coast international has established himself as one of the best defenders in Ligue 1 and could be at the centre of a fierce transfer battle in January. According to ESPN, Sunderland, West Ham and Aston Villa are the interested suitors and have been keeping abreast of his progress. The centre-back would cost little more than £3m and possesses all the attributes needed to succeed in the Premier League. Kone's representative, Mark McKay, told ESPN: "There is mounting interest in Lamine and a number of Premier League clubs have been watching him for some time now "I believe several sides are set to watch him in action when Lorient play Paris Saint-Germain in the first game after the international break. "Lamine is fast, strong and athletic and would be ideally suited to the style of play in the Premier League." Aston Villa have been installed as favourites having recently appointed Frenchman Remi Garde as manager. However, the former Lyon boss has made it clear he will show no favouritism towards the French players in his squad and may opt to search elsewhere for additions Edited November 14, 2015 by Villan4Life
AndyBM
we dont need any more midfielders, why do we keep getting linked to these? agree with everyone else, a keeper, right back and a striker, although who is better than what we have that would come to us? Villan4Life
Coventry Telegraph and various other online sources reckons we have been watching Reice Charles-Cook who has been getting rave reviews there with clean sheets in his first 4 games beating the record set by Steve Ogrizovic. http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2015/11/13/aston-villa-and-stoke-city-miss-out-as-reice-charles-cook-signs/ Quote Last month HITC Sport reported that Coventry City goalkeeper Reice Charles-Cook was attracting strong interest from Premier League clubs such as Aston Villa and Stoke City. The 21-year-old shot-stopper has emerged as Coventry's first choice goalkeeper this season, with some fantastic performances at the Ricoh Arena. The young stopper, who began his career at Arsenal, was therefore being monitored by Villa and Stoke - as well as Championship sides Middlesbrough and Nottingham Forest. Charles-Cook, who joined Coventry last summer, was out of contract in the summer which might have been tempting a move for him among the quartet. However that is no longer the case as the former Bury man has now bequeathed his long-term future to Coventry - signing a new deal until 2018. Charles-Cook created history by becoming the first ever Coventry keeper to keep four consecutive clean sheets in his first four games for the club and it now seems as though the Sky Blues have him down as one for the future. Aston Villa have been concerned by the form of Brad Guzan this season so a new keeper would have been welcomed whilst Stoke City would have certainly liked to bring in some more English goalie talent to battle with Jack Butland for the number one spot. But for now it seems that Charles-Cook is happy at the League One outfit. Edited November 14, 2015 by Villan4Life

The back up is piss poor We still have veretout and Westwood who can fill in. Granted they aren't starters currently but we aren't screaming out for additional cover. If by the same situation, Guzan breaks his hand tomorrow we have Bunn as backup. I guess what I'm saying is, while yes our midfield could be strengthened, we're likely to only buy 1-2 in January. And we have much more pressing concerns than buying another MF when we've just bought a few in
avfctom89
Charlie Austin, a new keeper and maybe a CM on loan. All depends on amavi situation as well.
Rds1983 Posted November 15, 2015 VT Supporter Share Posted November 15, 2015 Amavi out for the season, a loan for a left back or recalling a loan must now be a priority.
ismail-villa
Yep think recalling Cissokho would be the best option rather than loaning a different LB.
