majority of 80 MPs but had over 100 of his own MPs voting against him tonight despite begs and threats all day.

Surely he’s now a busted flush and doesn’t have long.

If only labour had joined them they could have forced Boris out within days. "They have no confidence in the PMs ability to convince the population of the new measures with his track record of breaking them himself. Bring it back to parliament with a different leader and we will back it"

I would bet that if some of those rebels got a sniff that labour planned to go the other way we’d have seen some back and certainly a lot of abstention’s. Enough to put a shot across the bow but not enough to sink the ship.

Why tell them, just drop it on them. Labour are so irrelevant at the moment whatever they do to get relevant is better than nothing. Their a pathetic bunch.

Losing a vote on a non-manifesto issue does not mean a vote of no confidence.

Why would Labour have not backed the proposals anyway? Labour would go further

Because they see them walk though the lobbies en mass. When you see a bunch of labour people going into the “no” lobby the secret is out.

Agreed they are pathetic but there does seem to be a shift happening.
