crazy crowd scenes at Old Trafford there, the camera pans across the crowd and one two people are having a chat, one guy is yawning and an old bloke is having something to eat

I'll stick with Villa Park thanks.

Just been talking to a guy at my work (who is mates with James Morrison, and is a Newcastle fan), and was in the Albion end. He said, he didn't really see the issue with running on the pitch, but agreed it was madness in their end. He said all he could hear was people kicking seats out, and they had to cover their heads, to make sure they didn't get hit themselves. He said you could feel the atmosphere, as soon as he pulled up and parked at One Stop. Agreed the kick off time had a lot to do with it.

So it's basically the BBC, The Torygraph and P3te. Each to their own, moving on then.

Edit - also interesting to hear Luke admit to being on Fratton Park a few times. I wonder if the police were listening (lol).

Thought the Ramble and Football weekly had it right. Not ideal but not too much to get worked up about. Particularly when it is so roundly condoned in early rounds at "lesser" clubs.

In terms of what happened its a perfect storm of shit really.

2nd local derby in a week + late pm kick off on a saturday + horrendous 5 years of shite +inadequate stwearding + ridiculous crowd placement = pitch invasion.

Personally, I blame the clearing in the woods with a dildo on his head.

After checking out a few response threads in newspaper forums, it's heartening to see that the vast majority of commenters - from a wide variety of fanbases, I might add - can't see what all the fuss is about.

I quite agree with Pearce and Lawrenson - it was embarrassing and disgraceful, and hopefully the BBC will make sure it never happens again by firing them.

Oh Ha Ha ;)

Suspiciously talented footballers invade pitch at Villa Park... The Football Association has pledged to locate the intruders before they rob Villa fans of the dour 0-0 draws they have come to expect.

To be fair, that's quite funny.

Not so impressed with newsthump's take on it.

Just saw this:

Look on the left and you'll see a WBA player, not sure who, going out of his way to attack Villa fans.

Edit: Video has been taken down. Fear not, the press have it! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/video/football/video-1166015/James-Morrison-Callum-McManaman-involved-crowd-trouble.html?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490

So with Mcmanaman barging into fans who are just running past him, and Morrison tripping another fan up who was just running past them, yet the fans are a disgrace ?

Seems to me like the WBA players are trying to provoke them,
