sexbelowsound
I wonder if he'll still have the legs for another game on Tuesday? I hope so.
DCJonah
Good point. We probably have a better chance of 3 points next Saturday so should we rest him for then? With Benteke coming back we should still offer an attacking threat against palace.
sexbelowsound
Possibly a reverse of today. Grealish starting and Cole coming on later depending on what we need which i'm predicting will be the case as it'll be a tight game.
GENTLEMAN
Cole looked awesome.
AValon
He was the difference today. Shame he had to come off really.
AndyM3000
You can see he's always thinking, moving, looking at the bigger picture and aware of what is around him. I slate Weimann and Gabby because they aren't thinking players IMO and have no real idea what to do with the ball. For midweek I think we should start with this.. Benteke Grealish Cole Cleverley Westwood Sanchez May need more width and pace in order to contain Palace though but it depends if we actually want to just play our own way and try to win rather than focus 100% on stopping the opposition. Shaw_nuff
Never lost the faith. You write off class like JC at your peril. Only down side is you realise just how ordinary the rest of our midfield is.
DCJonah
It shows how poor we've been for so long when you see a performance like that.
Villanun
Cole was by far the best player on the pitch today, on either side. He might no longer have pace to burn, but his range of passing, tight control and deft footballing brain make up for it. I have no problem whatsoever with him directing traffic and letting the young'ns do all the running around.
Mantis
I'd definitely rest him on Tuesday and save him for Leicester - not least because he'll be more useful to us at home.
jackbauer24
How old is he?! I'd hope that he could at least manage 60minutes for all these three games, just go easier on training if that's a great concern. Easily MOTM today, ran the midfield and Burnley today. I'd hope he'll strike up a good relationship with Benteke in the next few matches.
Supervillan78
Form is temporary, class is permanent. Joe Cole is class!

Hopefully he can stay fit as we look better with him out there.
Czechlad
He has had loads of injury issues, but he looked great today. Hopefully he is okay to go Tuesday, but if not, we still have N'Zogbia and Grealish.
Brumstopdogs
Very good performance today but it was vs. Burnley! Will be more impressed if he can perform at this level against the better sides.
AVTuco Posted November 29, 2014 VT Supporter Share Posted November 29, 2014 I doubt he'll get a chance to play like this against the better sides. We will be more defensive, and Joe will be on bench.
Butterfingers
Would hope he plays a role in the next 3 games against weaker opposition. I especially liked his interlinking with Weiman. On the back of this, I would go with that pairing with Benteke at the expense of Gabby on Tuesday.
TRO
its always been said football is played upstairs....the likes of Cole just prove it.
suttonpaul
All that today showed is two things. 1. There is still a good player in there 2. We can perform much better with different options on creativity
Butterfingers
"All"?????? What did you expect? A hat trick & 70 yard wonder balls all day long? Lambert knew there was "a good player in there" before the game, hence Coles selection. Stop trying to be negative for the sake of it-Your post adds nothing to the debate
