Lerner has not promised him any funds, and the feeling is he will resign soon the manager. It'll be a situation update and what will happen for the next few weeks basically. The only way Lamberts leaving this weekend is if he resigns and he isnt going t walk away from a premier league job when he knows he wont get another unless he goes down a step and brings someone up. Totally agree with that. Lerner might be many things but I do think he is an honourable bloke so I very much doubt he would drag his two lieutenants at Villa half way across the world to fire them. So on the one hand, Lambert wants to be the man to take the club forward (if the takeover happens) but will resign if Lerner doesn't give him any money? Why would the guy selling the club pay compensation out to Lambert and Faulkner and not just let the new owners do that?? Any Corporate Lawyers around to shed light on that? What was said was What I can confirm to you today is that one of the key items on the agenda at the New York meetings will be payouts for the two staff members in attendance He's stuck his neck out and said that both Paul's are getting the sack. We will see, but he's also said it could take time to announce it, so he's also covering his tracks if nothing comes of it and people start to question it. He can do that with a phone call and save a whole pile of embarrassment and awkwardness on everyone's part.
