As we had to clean and change the oil in the deep fat fryer we decided to make our own KFC.

Worked pretty well to be fair.  Would have put more spices in next time. Need a bit of trial and error to work out our secret blend of herbs and spices🙂

Yes, I saw that but we hadn't got most of the ingredients so had to improvise.  It was a bit of a last minute decision. Only problem is we will have to wait till the oil needs changing again before we have another go. I ain't clearing it out in between times!

Next door’s single cherry tree is producing an absolute glut of the darkest sweetest cherries.

Never seen anything like it, I’m getting through as many as I can. They are sooooo sweet and juicy.

I’ve promised them that if my plum tree produces another plum this year, we can go halves on it.

This has nothing to do with food does it? You’re just confessing to swinging with your neighbours? We have a confessions thread thats more suited to your needs 😜

I had German chilli con carne last night for the 1st time

Chilli is one of my favourite meals, they don't put onions in it, they did however put sweetcorn in it, like 30 - 40% sweetcorn... So much that it flavoured the sauce and changed the texture

Not sure how they can get it so wrong

I approve of the no onions part.

But while I like sweetcorn, I'm not sure that much of it would go with a chilli

It's a shame you ruined it with all that onion

That onion absolutely makes it, its a recent addition tbh and it improves it quite a lot, there's no going back with the onion
