limvillian
Abusing you lol. What, because you don't like people answering you back and you have been found out to actually know nothing? I am an optimistic person and genuinely thought the club would pull some deals off today, I was wrong. Moreover, Lambert indicated yesterday that the club were working on a few deals so this added to my optimism. This was added to what I was told by another source recently, so I felt reasonably confident that we would make a few signings. I am disappointed with the likely outcome, probably more so than you are. But it annoys me when people come out of the woodwork with a “told you so” attitude and begin to label and abuse others, it is not acceptable. I do not mind people replying and questioning my information, but to gloat and abuse is totally wrong. I am an attention seeker just as much as you are one. I was innocently sharing information through PMs and mimicking Richard’s cryptic messages as humour, I will not do this again in the future as it clearly upsets a section of posters on the forum. It is not worth it. There is literally no point in doing it. For your sakes and everyone elses. If youre privy to info then good for you. Either don't tell people what it is, or do tell people what it is. The cryptic messaging just winds people up and you will get the response you've had today. I have no doubt that if a few deals did come off today you'd probably be on here with "I told you so" style messages, so don't be so shocked when they happen the other way around. Rule 1: Don't bother sharing when your info in complete gonk.
Dodgyknees
We never get to hear the direct take on Aston Villa from Randy Lerners point of view, we never get to hear what HIS plans are for the club.... Sell up hopefully. That could be a smart move, i hear the owners of Racing santander are looking for a new club. Oh yes of course, the next owners will be the worst ever. This is a lame excuse and if this is the only defence of Lerner, it shows exactly what a failure the man has been for us. "Custodian" More like custodial sentence. Better the devil you know, than the devil you don't, springs to mind. Maybe we should never buy players, they might not play well for us, or even not appoint a manager in case he is the new McLeish. Sorry but it is a silly argument and not a great defence of Lerner.
Big_John_10
Same group who defended last Jan defending this. What a shock. By group do you mean the vast majority of fans? Same group who defended last Jan defending this. What a shock. By group do you mean the vast majority of fans? Same group who defended last Jan defending this. What a shock. By group do you mean the vast majority of fans? You think the vast majority of villa fans defended last January and will defend this? Haha dream world. Tayls
It's all just a bit disappointing isn't it really. Again we haven't spent a penny on transfer fees although we are spending on wages for two new players for 5 months. It just smacks of a lack of desire to really achieve something at Villa on Randy Lerners part and they have the cheek to expect us fans to keep spending our money on the club. January can be a great time to add new players to the team to finish the season on a high. Granted the transfer fees can be a little inflated but come the summer we may miss out on our targets when other teams come into play. Just a load of crap really, but at the same time, I'm really not surprised by this!

I also wouldn't have a new car, an Xbox One, or have discovered I like sushi. Enjoy your Farley's rusks and tit milk though. I've seen that a lot, I'm pretty sure it'll pass for fact soon enough after it gets repeated and repeated. No proof for it though at all, the man himself said they were looking at lots of different possibilties for the "number 10" role. Why is everyone getting their knickers so badly twisted anyway?! I'm sure we'd have liked a couple more in, not going to be the end of the world if we have to wait till the summer for a coupel of new faces is it. We just scored 4 at home and beat the baggies when they looked certs to win 9 mins in. Isn't that something a bit more positive than being a part of the deadline day headlines on Sky? samjp26
I would have loved to get Holtby on loan. Is there a plan B now Hoolahan is off the table? I'm sure there were many 'plans' or targets put forward by Lambert, but it isn't up to him to sign them. I think after initial enquiries were complete, Hoolahan was the only one that the club were willing to try and go ahead with, probably because they thought it could be done on the cheap. Obviously that didn't happen so there isn't any other alternative unless those higher up on the board miraculously decide that they should go for other targets.
