We we won't be getting him for that kind of money. It would be at least double that. I can't say that I know much about him so I'm no bothered if we get him or not but seeing the Leeds fans up in arms about losing him makes me think he's a good player/

It's basically becoming a gambling industry. Without proper regulation the industry has just lost the run of itself which, when so much money is at stake, was inevitable. It's just another case of lawmakers being about 20 years behind the current requirements.

FFP is gone, we're in the Premier League now and don't need to worry about the nonsense EFL FFP rules. The Premier League effectively doesn't have FFP.

It's better (as long as there's a set fee agreed) because you have the option to send the player back if you want.

Not necessarily. The owners could just not be putting in any extra money for transfers so Bielsa has to balance the transfer budget this summer. FFP would mean that they are near the balance sheet limits imposed by the EFL.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's announced as £20m but with part of that being add-on's for example an extra X million if we stay up next season, another X million when he makes a certain amount of appearances etc. I can't imagine we'd pay £20m up front for him.

There appears to be genuine ITK's* that are saying this is a done deal and we are just waiting for him to come back from holidays in Burkina Faso or where ever he's gone. Also rumours Kalinic is off to Nantes so I doubt we would be shopping him around unless we had a replacement lined up.

It was great back in the day but it's aged a lot now. It also gets worse as the season's progress too.

You don't sign a £20m Goalkeeper and then put him on the bench. If Steer was good enough to be our regular starter we wouldn't be signing Butland in the first place.

Maybe hes hoping to be back fit for the playoffs next season after a 9 month recovery.
