  1. The real La Roca is in the house. Superb last night, everything we hoped he'd be when he signed.
  2. Eerily he seems to know exactly what he's doing... what is this witchcraft! I think Calderwood is a good addition and will only help too. I hope we can put Cardiff to the sword next week.
  3. Great outlet for us last night. Quick, fit and has quality on the ball. Pressed all night long against Brighton, looking forward to him adding a few goals.
  4. I thought he did very well last night. Kept Knockeart very quiet, which isn't easy. Getting better by the game. Bruce seems to have his full backs not getting forward as much, Amavi was great at overlapping at crossing from the byline last season, but not seen much attacking intent from him or Hutton IMO.
  5. Who fancies a bit of 'Sitting with Xia'? What could possibly go wrong?
  6. Doesn't Birmingham have more canal mileage than Venice?
  7. A huge positive is the fact our goal difference is equal to the teams already in the play off positions. So as we win games and close the gap, the goal difference will hopefully become greater than the teams were challenging. I believe Huddersfield and Reading will fall away, as will Bristol City. Leeds look good, and Monk has them playing well. Bruce has given us a knack of winning games, which is invaluable. 11 points from 15 is fantastic, and I can see us being in and around the top 6 by Christmas. We have huge games against Norwich and Brighton yet to play, with Leeds in to play twice around December and January. The hunt is most definitely on. P.S we have Brighton at home last day of the season. Imagine if it's a one off game for 2nd place.
  8. I think this is one of the benefits of having an owner on Twitter. Little snippets and updates like this. Since the season has started he has piped down somewhat, which is what a lot were worried about. As for the redevelopment, the North Stand is long overdue. It should incorporate some sort of museum and club shop. Fill the corners and get the capacity up for our inevitable rise to the top!
  9. He's got a goal in him today! I can feel it! He may even crack a smile in public for the occasion.
  10. I think he's my favourite. Looking most likely to hit 20 this season out of our attacking options IMO.
  11. Boo-ya!! What a feeling! Please let it kickstart us!
  12. Wait a minute... this is meant to be fun?! I've been using it as a means of self-harming since 1996, and it does a hell of a lot of damage! Back to the game, and i think a centre midfielder will be top of the list for January. Jedinak hasn't settled, not helped by his globe trotting with Australia I'm sure. Westwood is Westwood, and Tshibola is raw, but good up to now. I feel the injuries to Richards and Elphick restricted Bruce from making a few changes to chop it up a bit. I'm sure Ayew and Gestede would have had a run out if not for those injuries. I'm hoping he will reinstate Ayew Tuesday, and could do with Gardner, Tshibola and Westwood in a 3, or Jedinak to sit.
  13. Feeling positive about today. Got 3 points written all over it. Wolves not pulling up any trees. Bruce had added pressure to himself by commenting this is the strongest set of players he's ever inherited. 3-1 Villa.
  14. Really pleased with this. It might be boring for some, but hopefully he will bring a stability we've needed for a long time. Im intrigued to see how he'll set us up, and whether he'll shoehorn all the strikers in. I'm guessing not! As others have said, he's the first proper manager in a long time. Now let's get on a roll.
  15. Nice to see you, to see you nice. Welcome Brucey
  16. I hope he can stiffen us back up for the last 5 minutes and we will all have a happy ending.
  17. I don't even know who I want. None of the links jump out. Wagner sounds like flavour of the month, but would he be able to turn us around. I don't know. I hope Round, Wyness and Xia have a plan. Xia mentioned only having a short time frame in the summer, so I hope they have the wheels in motion and contenders lined up.
  18. I think they're blue.
  19. Grealish, Ayew and Kodjia will cause no end of problems for Ipswich and Bacuna and Amavi will be more forward thinking, than defensively minded. Looks a strong side minus some key players.
  20. Very impressed with him today. Mobile, quick, and very good movement. Good leap on him too for a couple of those headers. If he carries on like today, i'm sure he will score plenty.
  21. Not exactly sure which game, but it would have been the 96/97 season as a 7/8 year old. I fell in love with Villa during the 96 Coca-Cola Cup final, and never looked back. My dad wasn't much of a football man, and followed WBA, but having to take me up the Villa he soon forgot that. My grandad from mums side is a big Villa fan and tells great stories of years gone by, and I go to most matches with him now. We've won buggar all apart from the Peace Cup and Inter-Toto in my time supporting Villa. Hope they can change that with the league this season.
  22. I've come to check out the Dr Xia thread after the best summer transfer window in memory, and all we can talk about is a tweet about Gabby.
