Another really exciting thing about our team, and well first 16 to 18 players if we include subs, is that it's actually quite young. But not inexperienced young, more collectively approaching their peak years. You could have that team and subs that played against man city play the same game in 2 years time, and the output would be pretty similar. It's good knowing that we will be improving on players with transfers rather than replacing, and receiving fees in too. The owners have worked to put us in a fantastic position over the last few years.

Wow, I hadn't realised that we have 3 months between games. Cheers.

As before the Man City game, I really don't get the opinion of taking a draw. Roll the Villa dice again.

If we top our group do we go through to the round of 16, and so don't play again until March?

Chop chop! Lets all gawp at Newcastle (again)

A draw would be a great result for us. Would be 6 games in a row without a win for Tottenham. Need to keep that winless run going. -
I said to my son before kick off. I wouldn't swap our bench for their bench. Notwithstanding their greater number of players unavailable, but when have we ever been able to say that?

The Tottenham and Man City wins have given us such a platform for the next 5 league games through to new year. Not wishing to tempt fate but we will very likely get 6 points from Sheff U and Burnley at home. Theyve won 3 games between them in there 30 so far. Therefore really only needing us to win one of Arsenal Brentford and Man U to keep up near to our 2ppg form. Our next 7 games then into early March are against teams with an average league placing of 14th. 4 of the bottom 5 in that run.

It's crazy that we likely are going to be mathematically safe from relegation in January.

Because of his determination, physicality and I suppose honesty, Mcginns never going to get anything for that. Other players might have gone down.
-
I thought exactly that. It wasn't the weight or trajectory of pass for Watkins.

Oh wow, no way!

This I what I still don't think a lot if people in the media have picked up on. Danny Mills came on talksport this morning and said to Gabby, "how is it Villa are so good all of a sudden?" We've been the 2nd or 3rd best team in the Premier league really consistently for about the last 14 months, the day that Emery managed his first game. People still think we are on a good run this season.

They didn't have a shot after the 11th minute. That's just incredible. Mcginn, Bailey and Konsa for me, but all were amazing.

These 6, 8, 10 mins of stoppage times are really favouring the top clubs, as it was always going to. The 5, Arsenal, Liverpool etc subs that come on are all as strong as their first xi players. That obviously isn't the case for the lower end of the division. They're also given more time to bang on the door until they score.

Such a streaky, confidence player. Or maybe that's just forwards/wingers in general. Playing with a swagger right now.
-
Absolutely this. He had about 4 in his first 4 or 5 games that were unlucky as they were either saved well or hitting the woodwork. Since then he hasn't even been close.

Should be a decent allocation too, about 5k?
-
Yes anyone a fair bit lower in the league is fine for me.
-
Oh god, are they still doing that? Haha. Who was it we found out was injured seriously because Targett took him out his team?
-
Could do with Port Vale doing us a favour and knocking out Stevenage today. The only team I fear in the draw.
