    Hmmmmmm. Shaping up nicely. A win tomorrow takes us 3rd roughly, and a point or 2 off top. Not bad going into December.

    I keep thinking how crazy that Newcastle 3 nil home win was last season with Moreno and Ramsey linking up and Buendia driving and picking out passes. And how none of them have been available this season and we have done so well.

    I don't think I'd take a draw in any fixture this season. It's interesting how Emery sets us up to win or lose but not draw. That can't be coincidence. Obviously aim to win most games but don't be concerned by defeats. If Watkins hits the inside of the post v wolves and it goes in, rather than the outside, we'd have no draws in about 20 games so far this season. The fact that that was set up perfectly for an outcome suggests that its deliberate.

    Anyone know if Witton Lane will be closed after this game, like Alkmaar. Also in Lower north was it only the trinity Road side exit that was open after the game v Alkmaar then?

    Wow yes so seeing now that NHS workers in band 2 will require an emergency pay rise, so that they do not fall below the new minimum wage. Going to have half the country on minimum wage in a few years.

    And the treatment of the public, increasingly. Being any of those professions 50 years ago arguably easier/more enjoyable than present day.

    Well exactly. The starting wage for the police is about £23k. Can either do that, or pull pints in the slug and lettuce for the same money.

    Lots of people are in skilled work, with lots of experience, earning £25k-£30k. Is the temptation increasingly not to just do something for minimum wage instead?

    I was thinking that when Watkins had to really stretch for the Foden through ball last night. I really like seeing our players represent England and other nations, but imagine us without Watkins for a couple of months because of something he did while with England.

    Surprising what a £2 mil goalkeeper buys you. Would be like buying Neil Taylor and not understanding why he isn't as good as Digne or Moreno.

    I keep reading this view that Villa might fall away because likes of Chelsea and Man U will strengthen. I don't think people get that the reason they're weak is because us and likes of Newcastle are stronger now. It's completely in our hands where we finish from this point. We've given ourselves such a strong starting platform.

    I think if we beat Liverpool and Arsenal then our aims would be higher than top 4 or 5. We're not aiming to finish just behind them.

    We are 80/1 with the bookies. That sky predictor thing would have had Leicester at about 100,000/1

    Just think how far clear we'd be at the top of the league if Buendia was playing. Haha. I do agree though, he would be useful in phases of games, particularly in Europe.

    I think around 6 points should be the minimum expectation from those. Are you saying beat Bournemouth and then one point v Tottenham, Arsenal and Man City, with two of those games being at home?
