  1. I mean changing perception to our expectation. Obviously all teams want to win all games always. At the start of the season, I would have been really happy with 5 or 6th. If we win our next 3 like you say, 5th or 6th would be pretty disappointing.
  2. It's difficult to know what are aims are anymore. Do we want to be one of the best teams in Europe, or is 4th to 6th acceptable as a target. I suppose the results dictate a lot of that. It feels fine to me to beat Bournemouth and then only get a point v Arsenal and Man City, but what is the aim? Interesting ten days ahead.
  3. It also completely takes the pressure off those games for us, if there was any pressure anyway.
  4. Yes this annoys me too. It's not like you get 4 or 5 points for a win against Arsenal for instance. It doesn't matter if we aren't to beat Arsenal or Man City, as long as we beat Palace, Everton, Fulham etc near enough every time.
  5. It's like something out of a weird, bad dream. I was at the side of the holte end, with this bottle of mayo in my hand, the mayo spraying everywhere. I chucked it into the holte end, but fell over and everyone was laughing at me, I then didn't have any clothes on. Ye I'm not quite sure what that dream means mate.
  6. We are so far away from what Christmas is supposed to be. All these stories of people not being able to afford things and going further into debt. How have we got to the point where spending is basically the focus of Christmas?
  7. For years, back to back home wins or 3 in a row was amazing. This is just insane. It's really going to be tested in the coming weeks though.
  8. I've said elsewhere, it's the only one I've felt that we didn't want to win, of the run. Which makes sense to some extent given we are giving europe a real go. We were so pedestrian that night. Clearly not under instruction to go out, but really not fussed. Kellyman brought on with 10mins to go for example.
  9. So just the 17 straight home wins in the league and Europe then. It's funny how it feels that you become accustomed to winning, it becomes the norm. Think back to how wild it went when we came back to equaliser against Sheffield United in the championship a few years ago.
  10. Just the 8 games coming up in December then, including a trip to Eastern Europe. Will be fascinating to see how we come through this month as its got a lot of really tough games too.
  11. I've just seen on social media that a Man U fan has come out and apologised for singing the 'feed the scousers' song at Everton on Sunday. It's a bit odd as surely all songs are offensive if aimed towards the opposition. Not sure who is offended by that.
  12. This is what I've never got with football. Why are PSG given a goal for the ball hitting the Newcastle players hand. The simple solution is indirect free kicks if outside of the 6 yard box but in the area. Surely these skilled players can hit the ball at the defenders arms?
  13. If we can have a 400 page relegation thread each season, when we are 2 points outside of the relegation zone, we can certainly have a title race thread when we are 2 points off top.
  14. The Villa defence played with Son like a cat plays with a mouse. Let him sprint off thinking he's away, knowing full well he isn't.
  15. Looking forward to us turning over Real Madrid at Villa Park. "You've seen the Villa, now f*** off home".
  16. Is 2 points per game nearly always top 4? Were we also 2 points per game under Emery last season?
  17. If we carry on our form of the last 12 months, then we likely finish 3rd or 4th in the Premier league. It doesn't matter if we lose games, particularly against top teams. Or are you saying that we carry on losing after defeats to Man City and Arsenal? Actually, we did lose to Man City and Arsenal last season and then went on a 13 game unbeaten run straight after, winning 11.
  18. Not really. We've won more games than Newcastle and Liverpool and got hammered by both of them. Even man city and Arsenal lose to eachother.
  19. It's a bit quiet in here tonight. Absolutely phenomenal away wins at Chelsea and Tottenham for the second season in a row. For so many years we didn't get anything in London, let alone from those clubs.
  20. Haha. OK that makes more sense. They didn't say that either time they mentioned it though.
  21. Sky pushing this 'we haven't been in the top 4 since 2009'. Were we not around top when we beat Liverpool 7-2 or am I completely misremembering that?
  22. Inches away from a hat trick today. With that narrowly offside and Davies deflecting his goal bound header wide.
  23. You'd just hate to play against him wouldnt you, so lucky he is on our side.
  24. So proud of them, if we can keep that core 8 or 9 fit for most of the season then we can do anything. Watkins, Martinez, Mcginn my stand outs, but all brilliant.
