  1. A west ham win for me. If we are to finish lower than West ham then I doubt the second half of the season has gone to plam either way.
  2. Oh ye no sorry that's what I meant. I suppose in the same way obscenely wealthy people can buy expensive cars as a status thing despite having zero interest in them. I'm just wondering whether you could buy a footballer. Particularly one who doesn't really play football or want to play football, and if you're offering better terms than their club. You could then play football with them if you wanted, or I suppose whatever you want, within reason, within their usual training hours.
  3. I'm sure I've asked this on here before but can you buy a footballer? If you're a millionaire, and say they're not a particularly ambitious player. You'd have to pay their wages too obviously. Like could I bid say £2million for Kourtney Hause and offer him a 3 year contract, or is there laws against it?
  4. Haha. As what, the best we've had in 30 years?
  5. Have you seen their league fixtures in Jan too. They wouldn't be expected to win another game until Feb.
  6. Haha. Welcome to the pre match thread of Villa talk. We'll take a point and get out of there. We're 16th in the league by the way.
  7. How is Troy Deeney a football league manager? I wouldn't ask him for directions.
  8. They've scored the same number of Premier league goals as Luton and Burnley. They're Man United by name only at this point. A draw isn't the end of the world, but it would be the first time for me to question whether we might not sustain close to what we've been doing. It puts masses of pressure on the Burnley game then too. Based on the fact that we score twice as many goals as them, and we concede a similar number. I'll go 2 - 1 Villa.
  9. But it's not Old Trafford is it. In its intimidating sense. That makes it sound like a solid game. We're playing a horribly out of form upper mid table team. They can't score goals. 2 points from 6 v Man U and Sheff U is very under par for us. Like I said also, if we don't win, this'll be the first time we haven't followed up dropping points with a win. We need to stay ruthless or all of a sudden Tottenham are level with us.
  10. I suppose again it depends what the aims of the season are. Back to back draws against bottom and 9th isn't good. And Man U are playing horribly. We won't always beat Man City and Arsenal back to back, we need to beat a way below par Man U if we are to keep up the way we have performed this season.
  11. Or maybe I just celebrate it next year. Haha. The guys so focused.
  12. Away at Arsenal in the 3nil. They were all superb. Him and Grealish toyed with them. But yes generally he was awful.
  13. I had a weird dream about this game. We take the lead late on. But they get a penalty in injury time, surprise surprise. But Fernandes skies it into the Stretford End, and Martinez does this crazy dance! And then someone throws a bottle of mayo into the Holte End, but stacks it as they throw it. Bizarre dream.
  14. Out of interest, where we disposess Sheffield United as they leave their area with the ball, but if we fouled them, is that a yellow card and a free kick to Sheff U, or do you go back to the goalkeeper foul? I'm genuinely confused. Is it only a foul on the keeper because it's a goal.
  15. I think we will win. Every time we have dropped points this season we have followed it up with a win.
  16. Yes there is definitely a sense of entitlement that has come with this changing set of results and aims for the season. A lot around me were angry saying we should be beating Sheffield United, but then equally surely we shouldn't be beating Man City and Arsenal back to back, unless we've suddenly broken the code for football, and win every game we ever play.
  17. I didn't celebrate either goals at the game tonight. It's an absolute farce. If they could have found something wrong with the Sheff U goal after 3 mins of studying it. I wouldn't have wanted the goal taken away from them, and have the piss taken out of them celebrating, having spent £100 and travelled 200 mile round trip. It feels to me like it was an idea by someone who has never attended a game.
  18. We could have won that 3 or 4 nil tonight. Combinations of us being poor, us being unlucky, and missing key players meant that we didn't quite have enough to win it. Remember all, we are joint top of the Premier league, lost once since September etc. Lots to be proud about.
  19. Kamara for me. I think we absolutely win that with him playing. Such stupidity from Martinez to push Maupay.
  20. My word. That gives us a feel for the scale of what we are a part of.
  21. How is he nearly getting a suspension for yellow cards? Theres naivety and there's stupidity.
  22. Was that in August? I got 100/1 and then 80/1 in September early October. But I didn't shop around so there were probably prices better elsewhere.
  23. It'll be a team stronger than those teams we fielded in the cups. I think Watkins and Martinez are the key two. Either of those absent and we don't often fare well.
  24. Starting to see talk of energy bill falls now. I should think so too, day ahead power today is at its second lowest price since 2020. Way before any supposed energy crisis.
