  1. We always watch TV with subtitles (my wife is Italian, so it helps with programmes with regional accents, etc), and now I can’t watch programmes without them. My gripe is when they add the subtitle to say (for example) [speaks French] which then covers up the translation of what’s being said. Does my head in.
  2. Outside of the big linked three (Poch, Tuchel and Emery), I really don't mind the idea of Villas-Boas. Only question mark is he's been out of work for a year and a half, and he seems to not stay in jobs for too long. Plays good football, knows Kamara and Sanson well. He's a far better option than Sean bastard Dyche.
  3. Thanks all. Great insight. This is my favourite thread on the internet, despite how macabre that may be. At least it’s not as depressing as on topic! Keep up the good work guys.
  4. Apologies if this is an obvious question, or has been answered previously, but what are the chances of Ukraine (or Europe) being able to ‘intercept’ or stop a nuclear missile?
  5. I’ll basically be living on the coast. Bring it on.
  6. Would love the option to vote between all three, as I don’t think the gas lamp one will be an option in the final two. I’m ashamed to say that I didn’t realise that our first ever badge had the lion facing the right, which option three is a nod to. This will almost certainly be what I vote for, unless the gas lamp makes the final cut and blows me away.
  7. Not in any England squad, which seems ridiculous. We’re very poorly represented in the England squads this time, only the two Ramseys, Iroegbunam, and Feeney in the announced squads so far (under 18s and higher).
  8. I love gravy, would have it on anything before I lived with my mrs and became more refined, and have it much less frequently now. Would drink it on its own like a cheap man’s Bovril. In fact, my old hangover cure used to be a mug of chicken Bisto and a couple of soluble codeine and paracetamol.
  9. I was told when I was younger that my Nan was a cousin of Robert Kilroy-Silk.
  10. Hope you can see that, think I might’ve done it wrong. 13,074 is the new capacity of the Witton End.
  11. http://eplanning.idox.birmingham.gov.uk/publisher/docs/94EA32B17FEFA4E488C38918F2D72969/Document-94EA32B17FEFA4E488C38918F2D72969.pdf Page 12 of this document shows the current and future capacity of each stand. Looks like an additional 636 in Trinity Road, 235 in Witton Lane, and Holte End remains unchanged.
  12. Plans officially submitted for the development. Lovely stuff.
  13. Going to be spending some time in this thread going forward I guess. Me and my wife are expecting our first child, and today we found out that we're going to be having a boy.
  14. I think Dendoncker will be an astute signing, and is what we need in midfield. He’s a taller, stronger and better technique version of Nakamba. I’m not saying it’s not slightly underwhelming or unimaginative, but I think it’ll turn out to be a good signing. Bednarek is better than Konsa, certainly on form, and I’d rotate him and Chambers depending on the opposition. It was a shame we didn’t manage to sell Nakamba, Guilbert and Sanson (although I personally would keep the latter two, but seems they’re well out of favour). It is worth remembering though that the window is still open in Belgium (6th September - could see Nakamba going back there, and maybe even Guilbert going there), Turkey (8th September - Sanson has been linked there a few times this summer, can see that happening), Greece (15th September - unlikely anyone goes there, admittedly) and Israel (28th September - even less likely).
  15. Davis is ill, I read the other day. Assist for Ramsey for Norwich’s winner.
  16. Little heads up for you and others. Load the article on your phone, and whilst it’s loading, switch to airplane mode, and you can view the article for free.
  17. I’m going to try and post a couple of positives for the Bednarek deal: 1. He’s better than Konsa, so would be upgrading our current starting XI 2. He’s on very low wages (£20k per week), so even with a loan fee of £1-2m, this deal wouldn’t cost more than about £2-3m for the year, which is what we think Young’s wages were last year 3. He’s great in the air, in both boxes, so we’d be much better from set pieces, both attacking and defensive I would be underwhelmed with the signing, but trying to be positive!
  18. Looks like Inter are signing Acerbi, and not Chalobah, which could open him up to come to us?

    Wolves

Kilman, Collins and Sarkic count as homegrown, and I think that’s it from their first team squad.
  20. https://twitter.com/utdreport/status/1560284980961579009?s=20&t=CZfMow3HjU5oxz00weS5Hw Bailly is apparently in talks with Marseille (no idea of the reliability of this guy), which could be them getting Caleta-Car's replacement in as he's coming to us?
  21. This AV Agent on Twitter, does anyone have him added, and can see his past tweets? I seem to remember him calling either Kamara or Diego Carlos earlier in the summer.
  22. Yes. Derby had Mount and Tomori from Chelsea in the season we got promoted, for example.
  23. He literally ran at the defence from deep at the weekend and got an assist.
  24. Finding this thread bizarre to read today. Thought he was excellent yesterday, and probably his best performance for 18 months. Two brilliant assists, he held the ball up well, won lots of headers. Again, like McGinn, not been his biggest fan recently, but delighted with his performance. Was actually my man of the match.
