  1. Absolutely. I’d rather sign him than Pote, to be honest, especially considering the differences in value. He got another assist yesterday, to end the season with 6 goals and assists in the league. Only question mark is the military service, but that’s a worry for another year!
  2. If we signed Torres and Tielemans, that leaves us with a lot of quality and depth through the spine of the team: DC: Mings, Carlos, Konsa and Torres MC: Kamara, Luiz, McGinn, Ramsey, Dendoncker and Tielemans Still not sure about the Torres signing as it means realistically Tyrone dropping out of the first XI, and I’m not sure I’m ready for that yet. But the passing range of Torres and Diego Carlos would be incredible, with Kamara just in front. I do wonder whether we’ll also see Mings at left back in games we’re looking to be more defensive in, and play a narrow back four, similar to how FC Andorra do. I know that Unai’s a fan of how they play!
  3. You have to finish at least 7th(/8th if a team above you is banned) to qualify via the league for the Conference League.
  4. There’s still a very good chance that Juventus are banned from Europe, which would mean that Fiorentina would come in to the competition, unless they win in the final against West Ham, which would mean no Italian team.
  5. Big yes for Tielemans from me. Really good footballer, and gets stuck in, too. If it's the option of him or Guendouzi, I'm 100% going for Tielemans, and that would even be if they were the same price, on a free it's a no brainer. In other news, Tammy had an horrific knee injury tonight, a suspected ACL. Poor guy, but would rule out any move from us.
  6. Everton have proved that FFP doesn’t exist.
  7. German Cup Final this evening. If Leipzig win, then Frankfurt are in the Conference League, if Frankfurt win then Leverkusen are in the Conference League. I think it’s fair to say that we’d rather Frankfurt in the competition, so let’s hope Leipzig win!
  8. He’ll be first choice next season, and rightly so. Konsa will either be right back or rotation. Konsa has been really good this year, but doesn’t have the range of passing that Diego does, and Diego is also more imposing in the air (plus a lovely cheeky 3cm taller).
  9. I’ve been told by my brother-in-law that there’s a very good chance that Juventus are banned from Europe for three seasons. So that would likely leave Torino (who have to play Inter final game of the season), Fiorentina (unless they beat West Ham in the final), Monza (tough Atalanta away game) or even Bologna. Which ever German side qualify will probably be ranked with us as favourites you’d have thought. But there are some really tough fixtures in that unseeded part of the draw! I really wouldn’t want to have to go to Besiktas for a result! But bring it the **** on!
  10. That’ll teach me for bowing out of the tournament. Well played lads.
  11. Well that went well. Not sure there’s much point in having a 14 minute match if you’re going to allow a team to waste 4/5 minutes, mind. Still, we never looked like scoring.
  12. This is why those of us who don’t want to sign him are against the signing. Pass completion, successful take-ons, and shot creating actions are just really poor. You take his goals away, and he’s an average player.
  13. It’s really not the sort of signing we should be making to progress. Lange’s suggestions for Sarr and Barnes says it all. Inclined to believe we’ve outgrown him.
  14. I like Asensio, but we can't be giving out those kind of wages at this stage of our project. £125k per week should be our maximum, in all reality, £150k for a really special player.
  15. Really not excited by Barnes, and although I’m relatively indifferent on Torres, he’d be a far better signing.
  16. He probably goes Spurs if it’s a straight option between the two. Knows Porro from Sporting, and Bentancur from Uruguay. Plus they’re in London, and generally a much more attractive prospect to those who don’t know what we’re cooking.
  17. If that goes ahead, they’ll still get Europa League. Was really hoping for expulsion from the league though. Or at least a Europe ban for a couple of years.
  18. Is there a reason why they wouldn’t want to increase the number of games in a season? That would allow more players able to get match experience? 20 seems low to me.
  19. John, I owe you an apology. I thought you were not good enough for this level. I thought your technique and decision making would mean that lower half Premier League would be your limit. Then Don Unai arrived, recognised your strengths, and made you play to them. Now, you’re undroppable, and been probably our best player in this calendar year. You’ve cut out the Hollywood passes, which was always my main gripe with you, and you now make the right decision/pass 19 times out of 20. I’m very much back in love with you, and I’m a fool for ever falling out of love. Super John McGinn is back, and I for one could not be happier to be eating humble pie.
  20. People giving it to Young genuinely baffles me. He’s started 22 league games. I like the guy, and he’s been the ultimate professional, but come on, this is player of the season, not club man of the year. Anyway, each their own. I’ve gone for Doug. He’s been fantastic this season, oozes quality and nine goal contributions from midfield is a lovely cherry on top. Mings and Martinez follow quite closely behind, but Doug wins it.
  21. I was being a bit facetious, I admit. However I’d have no qualms of him being a squad player next season, unless of course we can book an FFP profit on him, then it’s best for all parties to part ways. I am glad he’s doing well though, but it’s also a warning about future signings, that just because they look objectively great on stat sites, that they might not be quite what they seem.
