  1. Won £20 on Fiddler. £30 placed on bets, so not up this year but could have been worse. Hope some of you did well today
  2. Southampton capitulating. Could be 8 or 9 for Chelsea today.
  3. Hopefully the first of many for Davis today.
  4. Yep, you’re probably looking at approx £120m in fees there. However, move on Targett, Trez, El Ghazi, Sanson, Davis, as a minimum, then that’s 40m-50m back in. Then a possible sale of Luiz, Chuk, or Ings? Easily doable. We actually have players in our squad with some value now, rather than releasing players for nothing just to reduce the wage bill. It’s really refreshing to see.
  5. I agree. All hypothetical of course but if we had that side, then with Phillips and Bissouma basically holding, then Cash and Digne would bomb on and provide the width. Doubt we’ll get both Phillips and Bissouma in anyway but it’s nice to dream.
  6. Christ me, stop wasting your money right now. There is only one item required and they’ll come flocking.
  7. I would happily take Phillips in a heartbeat but do I think we’ll get him, no.
  8. I agree. I think I’d be more than happy if we could put out a team similar to below next season: Martinez Cash Konsa Mings Digne Phillips Bissouma Buendia Ramsey Coutinho Watkins Few tweaks and and it’s a very capable side.
  9. Absolutely dreading this one now and been thinking of several line ups but each time thinking we’re still weak in the middle. If Nakamba can play an hour, I would put him in but if he’s only fit for the bench, then I would consider Chambers as a DCM for this one. Spurs are strong in the midfield and when Kane drops deep, it will expose our usual back four if someone follows him and because of this, I’ve going with three central defenders. Chambers can then follow/man mark Kane, without exposing us too much to runners. Martinez Konsa Chambers Mings Cash Digne Nakamba Luiz McGinn Coutinho Watkins Subs: Olsen, Hause, Young, Sanson, Ramsey, Buendia, Bailey, Traore, Ings I honestly think whatever we do, they’ll pick us off and can only see a defeat I’m afraid.
  10. Archer scored a beauty of a header for us v Chelsea this season, so the art certainly isn’t dead.
  11. Everton don’t deserve to be leading this game. Massive second half for Burnley, which will define whether they stay up or drop. Lennon must be 45 years old!
  12. Born in 1975, so I enjoyed the 80’s as a kid because of receiving lots of toys (Star Wars, Action Man), football kits etc, but then being a teenager in the 90’s was immense. Absolutely loved that time, from watching Italia 90 onwards, being really into football, clothes, films, music and of course girls. That time before you have to think about getting a job is the best time, young, free and single.
  13. Antiques Roadshow and alike. Obviously these types of shows showcase what we the public have to offer in our loft, sideboard etc. However, one thing is bugging me, in 50 or 100 years, the bits of crap that I get talked into buying for my kids which is always “limited edition” and “ultra rare”, will we see this stuff on the telly in the future? You wouldn’t believe the nonsense I buy for them, which is then left lying around the house gathering dust. Big skip required or should I box it all in the loft for some poor bugger to find?
  14. Could do with knowing a little more detail on how this occurred before we decide on a course of action
  15. Robert Donat at the peak of his skills. Lovely film.
  16. Best Fantasy? That’s got me all nostalgic thinking of Ray Harryhausen films and Jim Henson production’s. Some beauties in this category. The Thief of Bagdad (1940), Clash of the Titans, Jason and the Argonauts and numerous Sinbad films. Krull, Willow, Ladyhawke, Conan the Barbarian, The Dark Crystal, Labyrinth, The Time Bandits. More recently, the Harry Potter films, The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit films.
  17. Ahh, I know a few of these - Bringing Up Baby, After The Thin Man, Bombshell. I like the era, Cary Grant, Katherine Hepburn, Jimmy Cagney, Clark Gable etc.
  18. Nah, it was on my original list! Still more than watchable today that one!
  19. Damn it, I would forget some others It’s such a decent category for me, particularly when growing up and watching some with my dad.
  20. Think we need a ‘War’ movie category as well? Huge selection to choose from. Off the top of my head and no way I could pick three, but some of my favourites have been: The Colditz Story, The One That Got Away, The Wooden Horse, The Train, The Great Escape, Where Eagles Dare, Zulu, Saving Private Ryan, 1917, Dunkirk, Full Metal Jacket, Platoon, The Hurt Locker, The Bridge on the River Kwai, Das Boot, The Thin Red Line, Lone Survivor, American Sniper, The Pianist, Schindlers List, 13 Hours, Defiance, The Dam Busters, Downfall, Ice Cold in Alex, Apocalypse Now.
  21. Huge game between Burnley v Everton this evening. Everton look to be without Mina, Allan, Keane and Van De Beek. I’m hoping Everton lose and go down but I suppose if they escape it means Burnley will go and I’ll gain some solace knowing that thug, Ben Mee is no longer a Premier League footballer, which in itself is a scandal.
