  1. Chambers on for Luiz. Need some control in the middle.
  2. Someone is going to see red today. Ref is losing control.
  3. Something to build on now. Both sides looked devoid of confidence but hopefully we’ll be lifted by the goal.
  4. Firstly, many thanks for the detailed post and thought put into your response. It’s good to hear some reasoning from another teacher. In answer and in short, it’s the head. My wife has worked in the same school for all her 26 years and worked her way up to gain TLR and UPS3. However, the new head of 4 years is very driven and has bought a lot of previous staff from her old school with her and continues to do so. My wife feels very isolated now. The head also expects blood and very long hours with it. Being in our middle to late forties now, she just doesn't want it. Rightly or wrongly, she has been advised by the head that if she wants to drop her TLR/UPS3, then she needs to either leave the school or drop to some form of basic teacher/assistant rate because she needs a committed management team? The head also won’t allow her to go part-time because she needs full-time staff/management around her. She is now considering sick leave or waiting until the summer and not returning in September. The plan would be to go on sick until early next year and then quit, and register with a supply agency. Whatever happens, it’s only money and I’d rather have a happy home. Cheers again mate, much appreciated
  5. It’s been a little tense in our household this week. Mrs F and I have both had the week off work but we’ve been bickering about our jobs. After 26 years in the teaching profession as a primary school teacher, Mrs F is ready to quit. She’s had enough of the micromanagement and constant criticism. It’s not what she went into teaching for she says. She leads in certain subjects and is middle management (TLR) or something but she’s heavily stressed and wants out. My concern is her wage is significantly better than mine and even if she does supply teaching from September, it’s a worry with bills increasing all the time and two young children. Any current or previous teachers on here that are thinking of leaving or have left teaching completely? Supply teacher work seems very hit and miss, with no holiday or sick pay. I’ll accept whatever final decision she goes with but not working at all is just not an option for us.
  6. Well over the last few weeks we’ve seen poor some really poor performances and results. It feels like I’ve said this a couple of times this season already but we need to stop the rot. Win or draw, I’ll take either right now. Konsa comes back in for me but I really would consider using Chambers in a defensive midfield position for a couple of games and see if this helps us take a bit more control in the middle of the park? Ramsey definitely keeps his place but I still wouldn’t be surprised to see Luiz and McGinn starting yet again. Ings I think will get the nod to start this one again but Bailey and Watkins should certainly be used at some point. I thought we would beat Newcastle and Watford, so I’m not going to predict another win for us here in case I jinx us again. Will take a 1-1 all day long. Martinez Cash Konsa Mings Digne Ramsey Chambers McGinn Buendia Coutinho Ings
  7. I’ve already said it in this thread a few weeks back but I can see him signing for Newcastle within 18 months. He’d be prefect to improve their brand and exposure.
  8. Team GB ladies curling, very well done reaching the final It’s the first time that I’ve ever really watched curling from start to finish and I actually found it quite enjoyable.
  9. The Newcastle game was a really damp squib in the end and everyone will be looking for a major reaction tomorrow. Gerrard in the immediate aftermath last week talked about changes being made for this game but I’m just not so sure what changes he can make without actually weakening us? Pretty much it was our best eleven that started at Newcastle and depending on what he’s seen in training this week I can only see a couple of changes at the most. Chambers probably retains his defensive place, unless he plays Hause and moves Chambers into a defensive midfield position but I don’t think we’ll do that. The main midfield three positions are where we may see a change or two but it’s likely to be Sanson and/or Carney? Ramsey definitely keeps his place but I still wouldn’t be surprised to see Luiz and McGinn starting. The other spot up in the air is who starts up top? Watkins was a major disappointment last weekend no question but his game hasn’t been great for a while now. Ings I think will get the nod to start this one but Bailey and Watkins should certainly be prepared to play a part in this match. Watford will want to keep it very tight and frustrate us no doubt, so patience may be required or we may come flying out the blocks and blow them away early? Either way I think we’ll win, it just may not be the convincing victory we’re all hoping for. Going to say 1-0 win. Martinez Cash Chambers Mings Digne Ramsey ***** ***** Buendia Coutinho *****
  10. I remember the trailer for Star Wars Rogue One and almost none of the trailer scenes are in the film itself. Tie Fighter scene at the top of the tower etc. As you say, happens a lot now.
  11. I’ve experienced exactly the same as you. Sent home with computer kit 18 months ago and constantly advised that things will never be the same and this is the new way of working! Then couple of week ago, we’re now switching to hybrid working and you can have a maximum two days at home a week. This new move appears only temporary as well just to appease and fully expecting us to back in the office full time by Easter. The annoying thing is, work were/are getting more hours out of me when I’m at home because I don’t have the annoying commute to factor into my day.
  12. Stats show that we had 63% possession but I can’t remember the Newcastle keeper having anything to do? That is startling really. It was a really bad day at the office and one of the worst performances this season. Let’s see the reaction at the weekend.
  13. First true test for Gerrard since being here, as people are now questioning him already. I hope he sees a reaction in training and I hope he’s ruthless in his selection next weekend. Nobody should be guaranteed a start.
  14. Don’t think we’ll see him starting next weekend, nor should he. Needs to get his head straight.
  15. He’s not blowing us away with his performances so far but the whole defence has been a little shaky since the turn of the year, even Martinez. Digne has over 40 caps for France to date, so he should prove to be better than Targett over time.
