  1. Big miss for them. He’s a promising young player. Let’s not forget that “Agent Clark” will probably start for them, which should help!
  2. Withdrawn from the Wales squad for personal reasons. Regardless of what some think of him, I hope he’s ok.

    Set Pieces

Is it very much “old school” to have two players protecting either post now? We clearly don’t do it, but can’t think if other sides in the Premier League still do? Last I can remember for us was Albrighton saving us about three or four certain goals a season doing it.
  4. Agreed, but also consider that the deal to bring him here may have agreed prior to Smith’s arrival or his intervention.
  5. You’ve lost me mate? Think you misunderstood the point i was making.
  6. What I’m trying to say is if Hutton was so woeful, Targett’s display against Adama would send him to hell - according to some on here! I don’t think Hutton was as bad as some suggest that’s all.
  7. Don’t disagree with you at all SGC, but do we know if he wants a crack at it here? For all we know, his attitude could be poor and he wants out, which may explain his absence from the squad?
  8. Woeful footballer according to some on here! So what does that say about Targett after yesterday?
  9. I’ve worked in office based roles for twenty plus years and wouldn’t mark somebody down for not wearing a full suit. Shirt and tie is nice to see though, especially at interviews. All the very best mate
  10. I love McGinn, I really do, but unless he provides a response in training, then i would consider dropping him against Newcastle. No player is bigger than the team and if you don’t perform, you should run the risk of being dropped. Otherwise, what message does it send out to the rest of the squad? Very much hope though that the last couple of weeks have been a minor blip and we see the usual SJM in two weeks.
  11. Brilliant news mate! . Little steps forward to the top and your beloved Aston Villa.
  12. Seeing more Bowery than Benteke at present. Perhaps being part of the national side will up his game tenfold?
  13. Looks completely knackered to me? Needs a two week break now or we should consider a change for the Newcastle game.
  14. Starting to worry a little now. Wesley should be a project where we can remove him from a game here and there or sub him earlier. Problem is we should have bought another striker in the summer to compete with him and we didn’t for whatever reason. January signing is key.
  15. So what? They’ve just won a local derby and have the bragging rights today. We’d be the same.
  16. Watched the game at the in-laws who are all Wolves fans. Bad day all round, although the pork sandwich's that were presented softened the mood. Injuries pre game and during clearly rocked us, but let’s not dress up what was a very poor performance from us. The least I want to see is fight and it was lacking first half and only slightly improved in the second. Trezeguet MOTM (only just) and not because he scored, but he was the brightest of our forward thinking players today. Nakamba was ok, McGinn poor. El Ghazi anonymous first half and only gave us something in the final 20 minutes. Wesley fed off scraps, but he fluffed his chance and should have done far far better with it. At least hit the target man. Defence seemed rocky all game. Where is Hause? Would have preferred him coming on to mark Adama. So to the goals. Wolves first you could see coming and we should be switched on to someone on the edge of the area. Poor. The second, well for starters the Luiz challenge out wide was laughable. I didn’t actually think we’d score, but pleased for Trez. In summary, we were terrible. Wolves kept the ball much better, but didn’t think they were great and we made them look better than they were. As previously said, injuries rocked us, but where was our fight and desire? Smith needs to rally the troops quickly, which is difficult during an international fortnight, but confidence building is key now. We need to be ready and blow Newcastle away in the next.
  17. Hope this Heaton rumour being out is just that and a nothing story. His presence gives me greater confidence than Steer. Hoping for a win of course, but realistically can see a draw from this.
  18. Grant Holt standing still and Gary Penrice. Both awful strikers for us. Finally, after a very promising debut, Carlton Cole was very poor.
  19. No reason why we shouldn’t be confident either. Wolves aren't hitting the heights of last season and their best defender is out (Boly). We certainly shouldn’t fear them, but respect that they are useful going forward. Grealish out (if he is) would be a blow to us, but I think our energy in midfield may be too much for them. Their midweek game could play a part hopefully with tiredness etc. My real concern here is that we have been conceding second half goals cheaply and Wolves seem to love a late goal. Can therefore see us going 1or 2 goals ahead and then us being pegged back. Hoping for a 2-1 win, but could end up 2-2 or a 2-1 defeat. One thing is for sure, it won’t end up 0-0.
  20. That’s him. Yeah, I remember the plumber as well and agree, he likes the working family background types for sure. He’s in the final at least i reckon (Thomas).
  21. The young lady fired last night was pretty useless to be fair. However, looking back over Lord Sugar’s firing during this series especially, it doesn’t paint him in a good light. I think Lord Sugar has a real soft spot for the big fella, but can’t think of his name?Annoying as he is.
  22. Have to choose my words very very carefully here, but I for one will not miss R Godsiff or his support staff one bit. Not pleasant people and any change will be refreshing.
