If he's not going to use his right foot then he needs to receive the ball a bit further from goal. He needs Cash overlapping to force the defender to think. Else he's just running down the wing before cutting onto his left every time.

I only mentioned them because most assume no one breaks through at Chelsea. You had those guys, Tammy played a bit the year before. I just don't think Chelsea are the closed shop they once were, they are now trying to provide pathways and investing in a pipeline of talent.

I agree, we've too many senior players at 8, I'd be surprised to see another incoming unless they were confident on an outgoing.

Don't other clubs have similar stats? If I look at us, we've managed to get through Jack and Ramsey. Our record isn't great. My preference is that he had stayed with us, just trying to offer another perspective. Chelseas record at bringing through players into the first team may not be great, I think it's probably comparable with other top 4 clubs. Chelsea are also pretty good at supporting players through an effective loan system that helps them make it in professional football. You can see that from the players you've listed above.

Playing devils advocate, Chelsea recently won the champions League with Reece James and Mason Mount in the side.

To put a tick in the positives column, he combined well for Bailey's goal yesterday with a good idea out to Digne.

I just don't believe he will provide competition or get a chance if he did. Cash is clearly number starting, he would spend a year on the bench. I think he's better getting minutes.

Even if we don't sell out, the club will likely take more at the gate compared to last year due to the price increases. The problem with us selling so many season tickets is that the club will want to maximise the additional income it can take with higher match day ticket prices.

Would be a waste for me, Cash is clearly number 1 and plays a lot of minutes. Young can cover right back, let KKH go on loan and get more game time. If he looks good enough then we can consider cashing in on Cash.

I don't disagree, I thought chambers looked excellent. Gerrard definitely played him as a back up centre half though which is why I'd be surprised to see that change.

I can see your point but Gerrard has hardly started chambers when given the chance. He very much played a supporting role last season. Would be odd to see him suddenly first choice.

That's sort of my point. Captains don't really need appointing, they do it anyway. So why bother changing it?

I really don't get the significance of the captaincy debate. All the players mentioned are already senior members of the squad and I'd be disappointed if they werent already playing some sort of leadership role.

If I take off my villa specs, he's shortly out of contract and entitled to speak to other clubs. One happens to be Barca. Not sure many (if any) footballers would be turning that down. If we can take a decent offer we should consider it. If not and we think he strengthens us then we should play him. I'm never one for cutting off your nose to spite your face. Let's treat him with respect, it may well be remembered in the future if he's changing clubs.

I used mine this season to get cheap tickets to watch Birmingham in the two. You had to be pretty quick but it was the first time Id seen something I wanted.

Forest know he likes the club and he won't get game time here. They will have to carefully manage finances, I suspect they won't want to jump into a transfer. Given he has an existing relationship with the squad, they can afford to let this run on later in the transfer window and see if villa will drop the price a bit more and maybe take another loan at the end of the window.

I agree, my issue is with people writing him off.

So villa looked, signed him, sent him immediately on loan, he performs as the best player in the league, now we're writing him off? Not quite sure what more he could have done.

No one at villa has every really taken a look at him. He signed last year and was straight on loan, proving himself as one of the best players in league 2.

I'm not expecting round badges. I'm expecting simple and clean for the insta/tiktok era. I wonder if we can find examples of other clubs that have done similar in recent years, in my experience these design companies rarely reinvent the wheel.

I don't see how it can be money, money is easy to sort, he could get money anywhere.
