all very sensible, the loan made sense but i was glad we didnt need to use him. Now we're clearing a wage, opening a loan spot and can potentially create game time or bench time for a kid. This one feels very well managed by the club.
i suspect this will happen, no real rush though, weve got a week or so to get it done, all about quibbling over a little bit of money now. Rather drive it until the last day of the window for the lowest possible price, hes not coming in as a starter and were in a very safe position so no need to rush.
Thought his link up play was much better today. Some of our attacking passing moves involved him playing the ball off much more quickly. Today he was part of a strong unit that kept the ball really well, restricted chances for the opposition and patiently waited. It was less about the individual.
my biggest concern and i think the reason behind his drop in form is his relationship with Bailey. Cash likes to get forward and likes to overlap the winger, for me he did this best with Traore. With Bailey its almost like their is no point, Bailey rarely releases the ball for Cash in a position that he can do well.
When you take out the attacking part of his game, he is quite an average full back.
i think we can all see the common sense behind the transfer given his age, injury record, contract length is his preferred playing style. Im not sure any of us are comfortable with the timing. Could it really not have waited another week?
I didn't realise it was this many. The stats will say that in terms of replacing Jack's numbers, that has been achieved. I wish we had got a bit more in playing style.
I think he'll really benefit from Moreno overlapping him. Will allow him to drive inside on his right foot more and play a bit more centrally. I think he's got a big role to play.
i guess you dont need to buy the players in a particular order. I agree a wingers is surely priority but i guess its a compromise around your targets and when they are available.
Id be shocked if we didnt end up with another winger
Speaking to an Arsenal supporting friend, hes a big fan and thinks he would do really well under Emery. His one concern is how disruptive he is, trouble seems to follow him around.
ive watch Luiz and Kamara receive that pass a hundred times. Its one of the things Emery is trying to encourage, its a very simple lay off, he could even go back to the keeper. The only thing not to do is dwell on the ball and then collapse under the pressure of someone half your size. This is just on Dendonker. He will learn.
agree with this, hes a backup squad player, not good enough for where we want to be but has performed suitably for the price/expectation that he came in with. I think Dendonker is an upgrade, arguably now Marv is in the way of a youth players development.
the reality is, not many of the players mentioned will attract fees, certainly not fees that will be attractive to us or by clubs that will be seen as a step up.
Who realistically would take Buendia/Bailey/Sanson for the types of fees we paid.
I think Emery is going to need to accept that its going to take a while to recycle the squad and may need to compromise a little on his personal beliefs to accommodate the types of player we have.
I listened to Steve Evans interview after the game and have to give him credit. At 1 all he could have settled but decided to carry on going for it. He also mentioned that they knew Villa would crowd the box at corners and expect them to put the ball in every time. They had discussed the right time to take short corners and the amount of space they though they would have as a result. Smart guy
A real issue creating chances, particularly against sides that sit deep. We just don't have enough goal in our team. Buendia, bailey, Coutinho, Watkins,. Mcginn, etc etc. They don't score anywhere near enough goals.
