  1. as good as the pass from Youri, a second touch or delaying the finish and he likely would have been tackled or blocked down. Excellent decision making and execution from Ollie
  2. Just to complicate matters I thought I noticed Carlos having two backheel clearance efforts during the Spurs game which totally reminded me of McGrath
  3. All ive learnt is that - depressingly - im probably too thick to be a footballer cos no way would I take any of that in let alone remember it and apply it in the heat of the moment!
  4. The bit that annoys me about the cash tackle is the Spurs fans moaning that he was just back form injury so Cash should have gone easy on him. Nope. If he's on the pitch he'll be treated like any other player. If he is still too fragile he shouldn't be on the pitch. Simple enough
  5. Watched 5 or 6 villa lads after the game yesterday walking up the dodgiest most ill-lit street beside spurs stadium, weaving between spurs fans singing this at the top of their lungs. I may have been the last to see those guys ever! On the title race - this may be the last year we get to win the league with City still in the league or without a points deduction. So for that reason alone I'd be happy enough finishing first this year!
  6. Honestly I find it quite stressful watching Villa players on international duty. Triple agony of wanting them to do well so you are watching them like a proud parent, the worry about them getting injured, and the worry about them doing so well they get tapped up by another team! Id rather none of them were internationals and be done with it
  7. Yeah it's a bit nuts to be in the position we are in and not have a real genuine alternative for our striking position. Definitely think a striker is our priority however we have been so dependent on Ollie that we may be getting a bit like spurs when they had Kane - they struggled to recruit a top quality striker as they know they are coming in as second choice. Hence why they spunked £60m on richarlison
  8. I've never watched a match involving Leon bailey where he hasn't been down needing treatment Think he's a wee bit precious sometimes I'm sure he's fine
  9. Went to see a band called Elvana last week in the limelight in Belfast. They are a Nirvana/ Elvis tribute act playing Elvis songs in the style of Nirvana, Nirvana songs in the style of Elvis, medleys of both artists songs and everything in between ("R**e me Tender" being a particular highlight) Musically actually really good, really charismatic frontman prowling around in the crowd half the time, loud and got the crowd bouncing Absolute fever dream of an experience but would highly recommend it if you ever get the chance
  10. That cant be right. If anything spurs overpaid by about £30m. Translated crudely into punishment points (1 pt for every £5m) then they should really have had a 16 point penalty imposed!
  11. wow. four £100m+ players and two more whose market value wouldnt be far off. Thats not a bad stable of players for Southgate to win everything with. He wont - obviously. but he should
  12. He was there scouting for kits. Cant wait til we reveal the sleeveless 2024/25 home kit - Cameroon 2002 style
  13. Imagine cheating to the extent of getting an unprecedented record point deduction and still being as shit as everton
  14. pfft Ezri went further than that with his goal against brentford in pre-season
  15. Kinda demonstrates how much their cheating has killed this league as a genuinely competitive event. If they had been on a level playing field imagine how exciting the premier league would be. instead we have a team with an 87% chance of winning the thing after 12 games. its depressing and wrong
  16. Who are these clowns - lumping us in with The Other 14 plebs!
  17. the more i think about it - what the hell was with that result against us on the first day of the season?! bizarre
  18. when i look at that - with the broadness of the top wording and the tapering at he bottom i see the rough shape of a gas lamp as the overall outline of the badge as a whole. Wonder if that is deliberate or i'm just tripping
  19. It was this line of thinking that got Rooney in trouble....
  20. i think spurs were always in a slightly false position at the top of the league with a pretty good run of fixtures and a bit of luck. Have settled now to their rightful level which is in and around us Should be a good open game. Im gonna be there behind enemy lines in the posh seats so hopefully I can contain myself when our fourth goes in!
  21. here ive just remembered that goal he scored in pre-season when he ran the length of the pitch. Why's he not done that this season?! wonder how the defenders fouled stats are looking this year. last year he was right up there if I remember correctly and he still seems to be doing that lovely thing where he gets himself between man and ball and draws the foul to alleviate all the pressure on the defence. it is artistic watching him do it
  22. imagine being in the same side as John McGinn and seeing the raw, controlled, aggression he brings to the game. It couldn't help but inspire you . Crucial to our team
  23. genuinely think we need to have a recount of Utd's points. In my head they've been dreadful and then I look at the league table and they are in bloody 6th - with a -3 goal difference?! eh?!
  24. He plays the way a Brazilian should imo - bit of flair, cockiness, samba style. love the dude
