  1. Kellyman Kellyman Does whatever a kellyman can Look out There's a kellyman
  2. Football is so weird the way so much transfer activity happens in panicked fashion on the last day Make the transfer window a week long and tell everyone to get on with it
  3. Been getting transfer advice from Mrs Doyle again I see
  4. If he plays in the rain do we call him Inclement Lenglet?
  5. Subscribed to paramount + on prime (7 day free trial) but don't see any live feeds or mention of the game
  6. This is gonna be popular but..... id say if ollie had been more clinical in the opening games of the season he may have been picked. there have been a few chances that he should have buried that maybe played on Southgates mind. I love Ollie but even I can see that he isn't perfect and isn't a deadly finisher. In saying all that I think he should have been called up... Not calling up Ezri is, however, criminal
  7. He is the quintessential backup striker though isnt he? Has never been first choice throughout his career but keeps himself sharp enough to be effective when called upon. Maybe not the worst shout
  8. He's the Cellar Door of centre backs
  9. If he were to arrive on the same day as Kourtney Hause were to leave then we may view this as a positive thing if that became our direct comparison at left centre back
  10. Bertie is gonna have some fun against Hibs isn't he? Reckon he will either score a hattrick or get scythed down in the twelfth minute for showboating Harlem Globetrotters style
  11. Not according to Match of the Day - i only saw like three passes before that goal on their coverage. Regarding Unai I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say I would even swap him for Pep right now. I doubt that Pep would have done any better than Unai has taking this job - his record is mainly built from winning with already great/ vastly wealthy/ cheating teams. Also Unai isn't an irritating twunt
  12. also, to add ( because im on a Moussa High right now) I love his confidence - he doesnt seem surprised when he beats a man or scores because thats what he meant to do. So many Villa players in the past were as shocked as we were watching when they did something well ( I wont name and shame) - whereas Diaby has that Gallic nonchalance which suggests that nothing he does is down to luck.
  13. He is so much more than a pure athlete/ speed merchant isnt he? His speed of though and decision making are also excellent, complimented by incredible skill Its comforting that in the video posted above there are a couple of finishes identical to the one against Burnley, and an assist identical to the one he laid on a plate for Ollie (the pin perfect cross from the wing). So his form so far isnt a fluke - this guy is the real deal. And I reckon he still hasnt hit top gear yet. Scary stuff
  14. I think our issue in recruiting a new striker is that Ollie is such a fixture in our side, and so important to how we play. Much like Spurs when they had Kane, recruiting a striker means either getting someone better (difficult/ expensive) or someone happy to play second fiddle (red flag). If you are a team who rotate their strikers a lot it must make it much easier
  15. I personally would have lost a little bit of respect for him if he had passed to Ollie rather than try to score 2 minutes into his debut Looks the part but I reckon there's a hotheadedness there that will see a few cards come his way. At one point he lost the ball and the way he started to chase down the opposition had me cringing a little cos I thought he was gonna do something dumb Also, I respect his dedication to the tradition of floppy haired Italian footballers. When I were a lad Italian footballers all had flowing locks to some degree - now the Italian squad is rife with buzz cuts and sick fades. It's a disgrace I tell ya, and in my opinion the main contributing factor to their downfall as a footballing nation
  16. I keep forgetting we have JJ to return. Brilliant!!
  17. I think we should adopt the bottle green from the Jack scoring at West Ham third kit as our official third kit colour. That blue mess has just been plucked out of this air
  18. worst set of kits for as long as I can remember. The third doesnt bother me too much - its supposed to be a bit different and they are usually aimed at kids and people cooler than me The away kit is okay - I've ordered it on merit of being the least shitty option. The home shirt is an embarrassment. The design is meh but that sweating issue - especially if it is picked up on by fans of other teams and the wider football community are gonna make us the object of ridicule in what has the potential to be our most glorious in years. The club should genuinely be demanding the player shirts to be remade in a different material as of now (though I imagine there are some obscure legalities preventing them doing this) Frustrating thing is it shouldnt be hard to do the home kit - the designers have been given the most glorious set of colours and a vast, rich history to draw inspiration from. Incredible they have managed to cock it up
  19. Simple solution - Penalties should be worth half a goal. They take less skill, teamwork, and are more subjectively given than a regular goal from open play and therefore should be awarded accordingly. At the minute, like mentioned above, the reward for getting penalty is too high and tempting for most teams so why not try to cheat your way to one.
  20. The best Ronaldo. In other news, Lukaku and Chelsea have fallen out - year long loan with subsidised wages good for all parties?
  21. yep, can see that argument. Would be interesting to put a value of what it costs to bring an academy player through the ranks from the age of 7 to whatever camerons age is now. Multiply that by the number of academy players that come through and how few of them actually get resold for any sort of profit
  22. So really the academies of the top clubs are revenue generating divisions of the main club - developing assets to be sold on for a profit to fund the purchase of established players. Any player who goes on to play for the club for any length of time are something of an anomaly and a bonus to the club. The bigger the club gets the smaller the chances of an academy player becoming a fully paid up member of the main squad.
  23. He is a victim of Villa's success in a way. If we were still in the championship he'd likely be our starting striker
  24. Doesn't seem right does it? Blew my mind when I read it
  25. At the risk of triggering the VT pun brigade, Hibs do have a centre back called Fish
