  1. Partly because the ref last night was brilliant. He had the respect of the players so when he spoke to emi and in no uncertain terms gave him his warning to cut out the timewasting he cut out the timewasting (relative to his usual levels granted) Often times the first warning emi gets is the yellow card
  2. Still reckon we should have gone for Ruben Amorim ......
  3. Mad to think Gerrard is probably earning more than Unai
  4. Thank you for this. I was literally wondering tonight how close we were to total goals scored in that car crash of a season Never thought we'd have already surpassed it. That's amazing
  5. If anything we went 4-0 up to early cos we don't half like to piss about and make it difficult for ourselves when we have a healthy lead!
  6. or Olsen for Martinez moving us to to -20%
  7. Bless that wee man. Footballers really are in a privileged position where they can bring so much joy to young fans just by meeting them and speaking to them. Any footballer who shirks this really are wasting a precious gift
  8. wouldnt swap them at this moment in time personally
  9. We should have you in the starting 11 then!
  10. ah fair enough. I wasn't consciously looking out for it during the match - was more of an afterthought. Must be still waiting for Castore to get something sorted
  11. is it my imagination or did the shirts look less sweaty/ greasy yesterday. ollies looked fairly fresh after his goal -though maybe he changed it at half time
  12. watching the replays back his stepover even fooled Diaby, you can see him in the background reacting to it
  13. Really confused about what Im reading. He leaves defenders for dust when running at pace. Carries the ball fantastically well Maybe he's one of those deceptively quick fellas cos he's tall and awkward looking but he is absolutely very fast
  14. ah man gonna have to politely and respectfully disagree - I thought it was great! The acting and the writing were absolutely on point for me. It maybe wasnt his scariest work admittedly. Probably leant more towards drama/thriller/tragedy more than pure horror
  15. sounds like Tonali doesnt have a gambling problem rather than a got-caught-gambling problem. If its not influencing or getting influenced by games he is not involved in, and he feels he can afford it, then he should be allowed to do what he wants with his money - especially when you consider that the sport is all consumed with a background culture of gambling However I fully expect that he will be advised to follow the Hollywood blueprint whereby individuals admit to having a "sex addiction" (who doesnt? ) once they get caught. He may plead addiction - seek help - and get away with a lighter punishment.
  16. I do sometimes worry about his status or reputation outgrowing us tbh. yes I know we are brilliant and the best team in the land etc! but he really could be playing at an elite club and he, his family and agent know this
  17. Not really no I wouldn't necessarily call being more vocal at calling out what you think to be a penalty claim, cheating
  18. Think the ref has been watching too much rugby because he let a lot of things go today Including that bloody stiff arm shove in Ollie's back. However why Ollie himself wasn't up screaming penalty I'll never know - I really think villa are poor at some of the snidier darker arts of the game sometimes
  19. But by blowing up for the wrong decision it stopped villas attack!!!! Aaaarggghhh
  20. Just let Unai design it. He gets everything else right
  21. Konsa's ability to get between the ball and the player to win a foul when under pressure is one of my favourite things. Knows exactly what he is doing and controls those situations so well
  22. I genuinely the most satisfying football viewing experiences are those matches - early cup games etc - that dont use VAR. Its just simpler and you know within a second whether the goal has been given so uninhibited celebrations can ensue I also think its rich that pundits are up on their high horse about all this - it has been the evolution of their hyper-focused dissection of every decision and criticism of mistakes that has brought us to this point. For years they would replay every decision after the game frame by frame with the benefit of time, no pressure and multiple pairs of eyes - then slag off the officials for any errors
  23. The one on left is my favourite of them all by far. The police badge ones look okay but they really dont mean anything to me - just a generic shape. These ones feel aston villa-y I would love to see a really really subtle brickwork effect in the background of the left shield. Would add interest/ texture and - for me personally - red brick reflects what I associate with Villa Park and the surrounding area. I also appreciate that there are a billion or so reasons why this is a terrible idea
