    I think January signings can really only be players Emery has worked with before if we want them to make an instant impact. Emerys style is highly complex so to expect a player to come in and fit in seemlessly is a huge ask. I would say an average player who has been in a round Villa training over the last 12 months is arguably more valuable to us than a better player who has to come in and learn it all

    He's got that intangible unteachable quality where he beats players without any overt trickery or step overs or any of that. Just really subtle body positions and movements that create so much space and confuses opposition. I love watching him. And then when he is defending I have so much confidence that if it is at all possible to win the ball then he will. Again not with raw aggression or big sliding tackles, rather using his reading of the game to just block passing lanes, frustrate the opposition into making a mistakes or with a simple block. Such a good player. He's kinda like our version of rodri where we really really miss him when he isn't playing

    Watching them again yesterday . They really do play at a million miles per hour at every stage of the game. It's not a bit of wonder they get the injuries they do It's really exciting to watch as a neutral but they very rarely just put their foot on the ball and have some control or set the tempo or anything like that
