  1. I think I stood near Frank Lebeouf at a gig the other day, but I'm not sure. He was definitely bald, white and a similar build to him.
  2. Yep signing him will just be pissing money away. He'd be better off just being a squad player at Liverpool.
  3. Feels like Paddy Reilly is back. To be fair some of the duds have turned out alright elsewhere, I just wonder if Bruce is more likely to use these players (assuming they join) than Sherwood was.
  4. I think Gollini went because the goalkeeper coach left with Di Matteo and he wanted to work with an Italian. Who knows what level he could have got to with us if he'd stayed, but he's not done much since really to suggest we are missing him. Just another pointless signing from our point of view and the player's. Hopefully Moreira will be different.
  5. I wonder if the Moreira signing signifies we are looking for more technical, European players to suit the 3-5-2. Mind you, I've never seen Moreira and he could have the worst distribution going, but you really need a keeper and back 3 that are calm on the ball.
  6. I think social media makes a difference as you get reminders that a lot of politicians are idiots every minute of every day. I still have a hope that there are many decent MPs out there that just don't make it to the frontbenches.
  7. Or Lloris in the World Cup final. The only way we will find out what he's like is after he's played a few games.
  8. I'm going up there for a gig today and the tube is going to be worse than rabies I think. Strange question, but is it a bit weird to wear shorts to an indoor gig? I'm not going round London wearing jeans today, **** that.
  9. I just feel a bit flat after the excitement of the takeover and then these Henry shenanigans. Probably not the club's fault regarding the change of management story, as if they'd just taken over without that story appearing nobody would have batted an eyelid about Bruce staying on, but last night was just a reality check of what we are going to see next season. I'm not sure why Jack would want to stay for a mid-table battle and getting kicked week in, week out.
  10. My theory is that Sawiris being a billionaire in London interested in football/Arsenal, there has been some contact, especially with the Belgium connections. If Henry gave up £12m a year thinking he'd get the job he'll be a bit miffed. Could have just been a load of arse gravy made up by the media too.
  11. Ah well, at least it was an exciting few days. Can't complain really, it does make sense.
  12. I have to admit that I did enjoy sauerkraut when in Berlin, having been very much anti-cabbage up until that point, the only problem is every restaurant you go in reeks of it. I assume they do something similar in Poland? The only veg I dislike intensely are leeks and mushrooms largely because of the texture. I don't count sprouts as food.
  13. Let's face it Ireland have been cheating by picking people who aren't really Irish for decades. Swings and roundabouts.
  14. We have to judge where we fell short last season, and for me it was after we beat Cardiff and it was largely in our own hands where we threw it away. I think Bruce's rigidity with tactics that held us back ultimately and not just in the play off final, but at several times during the season. Obviously Henry has no track record to judge him by, so we can only guess the way he will want to play. If I had to guess it would be a similar style to what Southgate developed almost overnight with England, as it seems lots of modern coaches are going in that direction including most that Henry has worked under/with, and I like that style. But then in the Championship there is always room for meat and two veg football, certainly when it comes to getting to the play offs.
  15. Even if Henry doesn't end up joining he's got a thread worthy of the VT Hall of Fame. Seriously wtf have i just read ?
  16. He is a born winner though. Remember that handball v Ireland? I think he will want us keep the ball on the deck but be able to do the nasty bits too.
  17. If they get high calibre people in right from the start then I'd probably go for out.
  18. Firmly on the fence. Without knowing what plans or expertise the new owners either have themselves, or looking to recruit for CEO etc, it's hard to make a decision.
  19. He says he has no plans to retire, and he ain't going back to Arsenal, so his options will be limited. If Henry was coming I'd want someone decent above him as manager/DOF/mentor and as Sawiri has lived in London a long time perhaps will see Arsenal as a blueprint. More likely that Bruce will stay though IMO.
  20. Haha yeah 'grown up' is probably the last thing I think of with Designated Survivor. Still worth a watch for Jack Bauer as Prez and Italia Ricci, but it is undeniably shit writing.
  21. Crikey. It's enough to make your eyes go all funny.
  22. Think it was just down to the Henry link last week, and people extrapolating from that. Far fetched is right, but you never know.
