I don't think it's a coincidence that us and Sunderland are in the shitter having both had O'Neill and Bruce as manager. Neither can build anything sustainable and rely on new and often short term signings that **** you up after a while (I'm not saying that they're the only factor obviously). To be fair I'd trust O'Neill to sort a defence out, but even then I'd prefer Big Sam. I'd rather we moved on from that kind of manager.

I'd keep Black in there and swap Garde for Sherwood. Remi did stabilise the results a bit in January to be rewarded with no signings whatsoever. Then it was a calamitous run until the end of the season, but it was Black who completely bombed out the foreign signings to the point they decided they wanted to move. Sherwood is just an absolute moron all round. Bruce is a bit like Lambert, doing ok treading water until eventually they were beaten men waiting for the pay off.

Big Sam does at least seem to be able to drill his teams on the training ground and get results on the pitch from it. He's a much better manager than Bruce but it would still result in a shit team to watch. If we did sack Bruce we will no doubt get hammered by the pundits, but appointing Allardyce or Terry would probably be the best moves from a PR point of view. Not sure if that should even be a consideration, but I suspect it's what put NSWE off making a change in the summer.

Cheers, I thought it might be along those lines. People voting is what got us into this mess in the first place, I'd be a bit worried about doing it all over again unless there is a huge lead for remain in the polls. -

Thing is we are only 5 points off the top, so why wait? Getting someone in right now would give us our best chance of going up, whereas if we leave it too long we won't have a chance of catching up. Overall, Bruce has failed to address a blatant problem with the defence and his cluelessness he showed when talking about Forestieri just showed that he doesn't prepare properly. This goes beyond results, it's just monumentally poor management all round.

Hopefully the Forestieri comment has highlighted to the board that he isn't doing his job properly, and more days like today (and previously this season) are extremely likely. They need to get rid ASAP.

While Stokes has a central contract Durham won't have to pay for him, so their money troubles are largely irrelevant. They seem to be in a position to start signing players again anyway so must be over the worst of it.

I think it's just about the best squad they could pick. Perhaps a seamer too many but Stone is worth looking at because of his pace. I've always had a soft spot for Denly so hope he gets a go.

I just remember him being good at conceding needless free kicks about 20 yards out. Still, he's a centre half and I can't complain too much right now.

Whatever happens I just hope for once we have everyone singing from the same hymn sheet. Some of the players we scouted from Europe like Gana, Veretout, Traore etc have gone on to better things than they showed here under some dogshite management, who we end up replacing and starting all over but with the same awful mistakes being repeated.

To be fair we did eventually go on that great run last season. I'm not saying we will again, or that I don't want someone else as manager, just that it's not inconceivable we win a few on the bounce especially if we stick with this kind of line up rather than 8 full backs or whatever it was.

Tbh I think I'd probably qualify as a liberal, as I'm quite conservative when it comes to financial matters but socially liberal, pro-remain but not a massive fan of the EU either. Perhaps eternal fence-sitter would be more apt.

Surely it denies a large chunk of the fans from getting to the game. I guess they don't give a shit, just want the TV money. Nice free kick from Messi though.
