AVTuco Posted September 22, 2013 VT Supporter Share Posted September 22, 2013 He needs a play maker behind him to be effective. As I mentioned, Kozak does not create his own chances. He still has a lot to improve in that part of his game. Benteke is a much more complete striker than Kozak but with that being said, Kozak is still a quality striker. The runs he was making was very smart. He was the reason Tonev was able to waste so many shots. If Benteke is out for a little while, Lambert really needs to tell one of the midfielders to stick to an advanced position or Kozak will be pretty useless. Czechlad knows what he is talking about.
DamsonwoodVillan
He reminds me somewhat of Allback. Did well making good runs and looks like he can put the opposition under pressure. I don't know if it was a pre-arranged tactic for him to peel off wide to allow Tonev to run and shoot, but in any event it didn't work out today. Having said that, if one of Tonev's drives had hit the top corner we would all be saying it was a tactical masterstroke!... And the old line "he can be dreadful for 89 minutes, but he always has that threat, we need him"!! I personally think that this will happen for Tonev soon enough, and this is what will get him going. mikeyp102
Took his goal well at the second time of asking (first should've been tucked away), good movement off the ball. Will get sent of this yr though, went to swing an elbow at one stage when covering the back towards corner flag, will need to cut that out. SikhInTrinity
Thought he holds it up quite well too, not as quick as CB, but you can see why we purchased him.
foreveryoung
Captain material in the future maybe? Looks the sort if player who would take no shit!!
R1chuk
Not the thread for it I know, but, how anyone can have a bad word to say about Gabby is a surprise to me. He was excellent again today. He's only criticising his first touch. Not saying Gabby wasn't good, I am a big fan of his, but his pace hides the fact he has a poor touch. Even the set up for Kozak's goal nearly got away from him. That is why Gabby will not get picked for England. Kozak on the other hand is technically head and shoulders above Gabby. theboyangel
Totally expect him to start on Tuesday against Spudzzz - will do him good to get more game time. From what I've seen, I like the look of Libor - he could be another good acquisition by PL./
thunderball
Good to see. Some forwards, no matter how you analyse them or how unorthodox they seem, get the ball in get the ball in the net. Libor seems like one of those, let's hope so. Seemed overjoyed at scoring too which was great to watch.
TheSufferingVilla
His movement was excellent, made some decent runs but was often coming back looking for the ball and getting involved just like Benteke.
Czechlad
Put some proper wingers next to him and he will convert plenty of crosses. Too bad we don't really have those.
CVByrne
I suppose we'll find out where we are going to be without Benteke next season in the coming weeks. Kozak has to take his chance. I need 2 goals from his next 6 matches.

PaulC
I don't know I thought the ball bounced off him a bit. Helenius held the ball up better. Mind you he was so isolated even Benteke would have struggled. Hated the way we played last night.
