CarewsEyebrowDesigner
How often do we see a team storm out of the blocks then hit the festive period and fall away? They've been sussed out but unlike most teams who found themselves in a similar position, they have the money to get some players in and freshen things up. Isa
Their team looks jaded. A few injuries have exposed the lack of squad depth.
Jimzk5
They were destined to go tits up when I dropped tadic & pelle in my dream team. Edited December 17, 2014 by Jimzk5

The_Rev
It's a squad game these days. You can't do well with 14 good players any more, not when the richest clubs are bringing full internationals off the bench.

VillaChris
West Ham have a better squad. When everyone's fit you have Carroll and Nolan, James Collins, Amalfintano all on the bench, proven premier league players. Saints have James Ward Prowse, Rodriquez when he eventually gets back and a whole bunch of kids and mediocre foreign players like Mayuka and Gardos. They remind me a bit of Newcastle last season, excellent first half of the season but when Cabaye got injured/left they nosedived. I think Saints are the same regarding Morgan Schnderlein. He is their heartbeat, like Milner was to us and their results have declined with his injury.
HanoiVillan
They're firmly in the 'best of the rest' category, ie. I expect them to finish 8th or 9th by a comfortable margin. They were always going to run into a wall when it came time to play the actually difficult fixtures though.

VillaChris
Our squad is as good as theirs. It most certainly isn't. In my opinion it is. We don't have a midfielder of the quality of Schnderlein for a start.
Isa
We probably have a bigger squad but very few of our players make their strongest eleven.
Jimzk5
I don't think there's an huge amount of difference between our squad and theirs, is Forster better than guzan? Would you have pelle over benteke? Long over gabby?
AVFCforever1991
I'd take Tadic, Clyne, Schneiderlin, Wanyama, Jay Rodriguez and probably Alderwield.. Edited December 20, 2014 by AVFCforever1991
Dodgyknees
Our squad is as good as theirs. It most certainly isn't. In my opinion it is. We don't have a midfielder of the quality of Schnderlein for a start. They don't have a better striker than Benteke, nor a defence as strong as ours. Outside of one midfielder we are fairly equal in that area.
Isa
They don't have a better striker than Benteke, nor a defence as strong as ours. Outside of one midfielder we are fairly equal in that area. But their defence has the joint best defensive record in the league, so that's clearly not the case.

We have been set up to soak up pressure, they keep the ball. Its no wonder their defence doesn't suffer. If we keep the ball our defence will cope better. We have also been forced to change partnerships far too often. Injuries and poor tactics are not the fault of our defenders. Otherwise you could argue Pelle is twice the player Benteke is.
