Chop chop! Lets all gawp at Newcastle (again)

Will be interesting to see if any potential sponsors refuse to be asosciated with the club, or whether money will talk like it always does.

Also, if the ffp limits that are so high for them this year get used to their fullest, they'll be hamstrung for the next 2 seasons. That profit from 2 years ago will be replaced in next years calculations by a huge loss this year.  This is not the end of the world for us, or any other club trying to break the top 6/4.

It might be the end of any remaining shred of dignity left in the game, but let's face it...the continued racism, Sepp and FIFA's corruption, financial disparity, the attempted European super league and, to a lesser extent, diving have all long since killed the beautiful game.

Whatever success they get is quite a long way away. Don't think it'll affect us in the short term, but we absolutely need to make our progress count now while we still can. Especially if they get relegated, that's another year off schedule. It's going to take a while for their sponsorships or whatever clever way they're going to get around FFP to kick in, but not only that, they have to absolute nail their football appointments to hit the ground running.

Even if they poach our entire setup and appoint Antonio Conte, even breaking the top 4 is still a couple of years out. I see them becoming more of a QPR at first. Eventually the money will shine through though. You can only mess up with this amount of money and clout for so long before you eventually land on your feet.

F#ck the geordie maggots, what they do has no bearing on the direction we are taking , we have a great academy set up which is well underway which in its own way will be the future to counter ffp restrictions , we are also a very attractive option to any players we are willing to pay for . Where they are as a club right now is just pap , they will not turn into a superpower overnight just because of new ownership the rules will see to that , hope they get relegated

Very simplistic view.

Man City have a squad worth 1 billion pounds.

Which is 1/20th of the Citeh owners wealth.

If Newcastle spent 1/20th of their wealth that squad could be 16 billion....

We were hoping to crash the party but I could put good money on them being higher than us in the league within 5 years. 2-3 years if they stay up in the league.

Have to agree with you, it is a very simplistic view

That kind of serious wherewithal, will affect us all.....but something could crawl out of the woodwork, to upset the applecart.

something sounds a bit too good to be true to me, and consortiums do have a habit of finding trouble.
