BOF Posted July 23, 2013 Moderator Share Posted July 23, 2013 Gambling isn't banned so they may aswell have taken his photo in a newsagents. Nothing to see here, sadly. Still doesn't change my opinion that he's angling for a move by not wearing the jersey though
TrentVilla Posted July 23, 2013 Moderator Share Posted July 23, 2013 BOF the Quran is against gambling just as it is against loaning money.
BOF Posted July 23, 2013 Moderator Share Posted July 23, 2013 After visiting a better page on the subject, yes it appears you are right. Carry on laughing. And you stay classy Papiss.
Ghost
I would be absolutely gobsmacked if that is actually Cisse.
Voinjama
Getting away from the picture for a second, I cannot wait to see how this stand off between Cisse and Newcastle will end up. They can't have a player on their books who is refusing to play, and they won't change the sponsor just for him , because 1 man is not bigger then the club. *Gets out the popcorn*
TrentVilla Posted July 23, 2013 Moderator Share Posted July 23, 2013 It is being reported by The Mail and The Mirror, both claiming that several people have claimed to have seen him on the night in question at the casino.
The_Rev
Judge, jury an executioner from a photo as grainy as that? I'm glad I'm not on trial in the court of VT! I agree but a national newspaper has seen fit to run with it, now I know that doesn't mean it is 100% accurate but you would think they must be pretty sure. The article is here. The Daily Mail never once accuse Cisse of gambling, in fact they seem to have very deliberately worded their article to avoid accusing him. The one quote they have is from some bloke off of Twitter. Again, I think we have to invoke Betteridges Law of Headlines here which states that any the answer to any headline which asks as question is probably "no" and that a journalist will use such a headline in cases where they don't have the sources or facts to back an accusation up, but want to run the story anyway. The_Rev
I don't even think they can be sure it is him, hence all the question marks. It's just such a potentially interesting story that they have decided to run it anyway because clicks are everything in this day and age and the story will spread like wildfire. Yes I know, I've read the article which is why I never said they had accused him of gambling. What I said was that they were running with the story but that just because they are doesn't make if 100% accurate but you would think they are pretty sure seeing as they've done so. No question at all they are covering their arses with the way it is written.
BOF Posted July 23, 2013 Moderator Share Posted July 23, 2013 With Bent as a likely replacement, I want this Cisse malarkey to come to a head sooner rather than later.
LondonLax
I don't think they are pretty sure. I recon they don't have a clue if it's him or not. They have just seen the story and decided it's too tempting to not put up.
CarewsEyebrowDesigner
A good journalist wouldn't run with it, but it has been a long time since we had good journalism.

Stevo985 Posted July 23, 2013 VT Supporter Share Posted July 23, 2013 I don' think it even looks like him. I know that's stupid as you can barely see him. But Cisse is darker than the guy in the picture, imo
bannedfromHandV
I wouldn't wear Wonga shirt. They're scum. Certainly would boycott any Villa shirts sponsored by a payday loan company. Just out of interest, what are your feelings on a large gambling company in Genting, 32Red or Dafabet. Not my preferred kind of sponsor however you know what you're getting with a gambling company. Payday loan companies prey on the weak and mislead people into paying ridiculously over the odds, not only leading people into a huge mess, but threatening them when payments are not met. All whilst being completely (and amazingly) ungoverned or regulated. I wouldn't say mislead I mean, anyone who chooses to take a loan out with a company who advertise on television their apr rate of 2318% typical kinda makes their own bed really.
