Why are you getting so worked up over different opinions? We're Villa fans, not just fans of Benteke like yourself. He's not untouchable. because i'm getting tired of reading that he is lazy. just bench him or get a coach who actually knows something about tactics and doesn't just depends on 1 player. Boom. Nail. Butterfingers Posted January 1, 2015 Share Posted January 1, 2015 Just a few thoughts that Belgium Boy may wish to consider: 1. Benteke had an excellent 2nd half to his first season. Injuries have restricted playing time since but approaching the 2nd half of his third season here, he still hasn't consistently proven himself yet. That is not to say that he won't but you need to come down to earth a bit-He is not even 1st choice in the Belgium side. 2. Your view that he is the star player for the team is also wrong. Vlaar played in a very good, highly rated world cup side-Better than Belgium. Delph has also forced his way into the England set up. Both may well leave the club for better teams but they are also at a similar level to Benteke. 3. When Benteke doesn't perform (which he hasn't done in his last 2 games) He is not above criticism. To simply state "see how you do without him" shows not only your total lack of respect for AVFC but also how little you know about football. Looked a lot better when Cole and Jack came on, at least we made a bit of space and moved off the ball a bit more.CB is looking poor because the players around him are very poor.Its simple, you want the best out of CB you get better players around him.Yes he missed a good chance today, but he is the only one who looks like scoring. He's been at it since he got back into the team after injury.
