Designer1 Posted February 5, 2013 VT Supporter Posted February 5, 2013 I'd say something is rotten in the state of Nottingham. Definitely more to this than Eck just being poor.
CarewsEyebrowDesigner Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 Yes, the Boyd deal was a farce. Inevitable that McLeish would go.
hippo Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 Jesus forest have dodged a bullet here. From a selfish point of view I would have liked him to have stayed, as it is 'villa fans never gave him a chance lives on' His next job must be in the far east - can't see anyone else wanting him
TrentVilla Posted February 5, 2013 Author Moderator Posted February 5, 2013 Best piece of news I've heard in ages, looks like I can end my one man boycott of Forest games.
islingtonclaret Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 (edited) They're pretty lucky. On the other hand, it's clear that their owners don't have a clue what's going on. I feel for the people of Nottingham - the Forest fans laughing at County's demise now look like they're about to have their turn. Edited February 5, 2013 by islingtonclaret
Cliffy Biro Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 The horrible owners mean that everyone will forget the won 1 in 7 and he will still me a media darling i guess.
Shillzz Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 (edited) He wasn't, and still isn't, a very good manager, but I quite liked Mcleish as an individual and feel a little sorry for him with regards to the way things have turned out for him at Forest. He did a better job here than Lambert is currently doing, with virtually no support from the club's fans. Yet we still hate him and wish him misfortune? Nah. Edited February 5, 2013 by Shillzz
pacbuddies Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 Best news I have heard in ages. Even better that it was one of his former clubs that put the final nail in his coffin. It couldn't have happened to a nicer bloke! LOL
Zatman Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 He walked and wasnt sacked so his reputation wont be that tarnished. Though he is football management, the only job you can be shit and still get another job

Mantis Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 Yet we still hate him and wish him misfortune? Nah. Because he was shit. Lambert being a little bit worse doesn't make McLeish any better.
Richard Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 Dreadful appointment was always going to end in tears Any reporter says anything other than he is a shite manager is just deflection from the fact he is a shite manager

So many things wrong with this post I wouldn't know where to start so I'm not even going to bother.
mikeyp102 Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 (edited) He''ll use the transfer saga as an excuse for leaving, but let's be honest his record at forest was woeful Edited February 5, 2013 by mikeyp102

So many things wrong with this post I wouldn't know where to start so I'm not even going to bother. Look; I'm not defending what he did here in terms of managing the team, we all know how that went. But he doesn't deserve the attitude he gets from Villa fans, he was a terrible manager, but pleasant enough man. His only real crime was being crap, and previously managing Birmingham ofcourse. Neither of those is enough to warrant some of the comments on here. ... Actually... as someone who has had to endure his football 'style' at two clubs, I'll make an exception for you. But I still stand by my opinion on the matter.
Demitri_C Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 he signed shit n zogbia for 10m and offered given a 5 year deal! ridiculous i still think lamberts better than that loser

Zatman Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 every manager does the same thing though whether its Jose Mourinho, Alex Ferguson or Alex McLeish. The way he was treated by some Villa fans was appalling. Am sure his 1st defeat was a cup game vs Bolton and he got booed off after about 8 games Lambert has lost about 15 games this season and booing and criticism has only started happening now 1
maqroll Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 How does a manager and his employer develop starkly different philosophies for the club after 7 games? Absurd.
