tomaspg
**** riddiculous, they should fine terry for playing volleyball on a footballpitch. its not even a criticism of the referees its just pointing out the blantantly **** obvious, i dont understand why they should be protected from any sort of comments? what are they 5 years old and their feelings might get hurt? foreveryoung
Even the sky panel on Saturday have confirmed refs are bias with bigger teams, an they are usually very careful what's said. Its blatently obvious, any ref at the Chelsea game would gave been extremely brave to give a big decision against a newly signed Mourinio!!! chakal
£8000???? The FA can **** right off, how about fining the incompetent referee and linesmen for their shite performance? Wasn't even **** dropped, while the ref in our game against Arsenal was. Really consistent. No he wasn't
foreveryoung
Refs are untouchable. Off subject a little but how could a ref not get in trouble for the yellow card just given Welbeck....
Ghost_of_Pongo_Waring
Didn't Wenger say the same after we played them? What specifically gets you a fine? It was saying the pen would have been given at the other end, implying bias. Perfectly true and valid but it broke the rules. If he hadn't said that I think he'd have been ok. They're not untouchable. When they get it wrong against the big teams there are always consequences, but it's allowed against the like of us.

VILLAMARV
am I still allowed to come here and publically disagree with referees decisions if I think they were wrong?
Popular Post JoshVilla
So....Anthony Taylor gets dropped for his performance at the Emirates, when both of the major decisions that were so controversial were actually correct and the replays 100% prove so. Kevin Friend misses 2 decisions that, again, you can watch the replays all you like and all they do is prove Lambert's points even further, and Lambo gets fined for complaining and no action is taken against the ref? This is completely disgusting how this is allowed to happen. He was right when he said that the penalty would have been given if it was at the other end, and I wouldn't be surprised if that was the comment that he's been fined for. I've noticed that the refereeing so far this season has been particularly and noticeably more terrible. The bias towards top 6 teams is atrocious and needs addressing, and is only made more obvious to everybody when things like this happen. Well done to Lambo for pointing it out, and it's a massive shame that he's the one who comes out of this as the "bad guy".
samjp26
I don't understand how you can be fined for pointing out wrong decisions that were indeed wrong. £8,000 is pretty hefty as well in terms of managerial fines from the FA I think? Popular Post bickster Posted September 7, 2013 Moderator Popular Post Share Posted September 7, 2013 So....Anthony Taylor gets dropped for his performance at the Emirates....Incorrect and people really should stop believing what some random Arsenal fan said on an Arsenal forum. The ref was not dropped, he was only down to be 4th official the next week. The ref was not punished by the FA, how could they do that, the ref called it right

Managers know this at the time they say it but they say it all the same because in reality the fine is chicken feed, they carry on because the psychology of it in future games is far more valuable to the team. Its just part of a game. Lambert just took it on the chin because the fine was less important than the effect of the words

tinker Posted September 7, 2013 VT Supporter Share Posted September 7, 2013 Arsene Wenger got away with saying 'I didn't like the fact the way the game was refereed and this is a deeper question that just one decision.'I don't like to lie, I didn't like what he did." vandaq
I agree with bickster on this, but it doesn`t change the fact that some managers get it harder then others.
